Student attendance continues to be a main focus of ours this school year. Research shows that freshmen are most successful and remain on the path to graduation when they attend school regularly. It is our goal that each student misses no more than 10 days of school during the year. That equates to no more than one absence each month.

If your student is sick with a fever or is contagious and must remain at home, please call the school nurse, Mysti Anderson, so that she can excuse the absence. Please use the graphic below as a resource if your student wakes up in the morning and is not feeling well.

Thank you for your support in ensuring students attend school as often as possible in order to stay on track for high school graduation!

Last weekend, the Habersham Central Band of Blue won GRAND CHAMPIONS at the 6th annual Berkmar Marching Invitational at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, GA. This is a huge, huge accomplishment for the band! This is the first time in recent history that the band has won a full grand championship! The Band of Blue placed first out of 18 bands at the event and received extremely complementary and positive feedback from the adjudication panel.

Congratulations to band director Jacob Weinstein and all the students who received this well-deserved recognition.

In an effort to create and maintain exceptional schools, the Georgia Department of Education has created a Georgia Parent Survey that is available for all parents and guardians of HNGA students. Survey responses will be anonymous and submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education.

The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.

Your feedback on the survey is greatly appreciated and will be used to ensure HNGA continues to be a high-performing school.
