School Choice - Attention Parents of 8th Graders
Now is the time to start thinking about where your student will go to high school next year. It's particularly important especially for families who want to participate in the school-choice lottery. There are various deadlines you will want to be be aware of.
Parents in Morrisville and Elmore: You should receive a letter from your local school district with a school-choice enrollment application in the mail or access the application here.
Contact Sheila Jones at sheila.jones@lsuu.org if you do not receive your letter or if you have any questions.
Parents in other school districts: Please contact your local public high school now if you are interested in the state's school-choice lottery for your 8th grader to be considered at another public school outside of your residency district. The application window may be closing soon.
CONGRATULATIONS, JULIA!

Double Whammy for BJAMS during National School Choice Week 2020
BJAMS won in two categories: Innovative Schools and Innovative Teacher. Brad Ferland, co-chair of National School Choice Week, presented the awards to Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Nordenson during morning assembly. Here's a synopsis of what Brad said about us:
“There are so many good things to say about Bishop John A. Marshall School. Their history of starting in church basements and successfully fundraising to build a school for a permanent home is very impressive,” Ferland said. “Being the first Catholic School built in Vermont in a 50-year history was monumental. And looking to their core values one finds the essence of their success with integrity, love, dignity, respect for God and neighbor, awareness and response to the needs of others, faith, and respect for order and discipline. The school has a strong parental involvement and support as well.”
These two awards are a testament that BJAMS is filled with wonderful and hardworking students with amazing families, and dedicated and talented teachers that are recognized nation wide. What an honor!
