Back to Normal !?!?

Dear River Hill Families,

Not too much to report as we only had a half day of school last week. The exam schedule was sent out yesterday and is included below. Please be sure to review and discuss with your child(ren).

In addition to the updated exam schedule, there have been some adjustments to the 2nd quarter. Here are the adjustments to schedules and dates for the Second Quarter Grading Window due to the inclement weather. Modifications to the 2023-2024 Academic Calendar were approved by the Board at the January 18, 2024 meeting.

For Secondary Schools:

End of 2nd marking period - from 1/19/24 to 1/25/24
Grades Due 11:00 am - from 1/25/24 to 1/31/24
Report Cards issued at 4:00 pm - from 1/30/24 to 2/5/24
Last day to withdraw from a Semester 2 high school credited course without penalty - from 2/15/24 to 2/21/24
Last day to make level changes for a 1.0 credit course - from 2/15/24 to 2/21/24

Lastly, River Hill has TWO Regional Finalists in the Coca-Cola Scholarship Competition – Naomi Ling and Lily Peng. This is a huge accomplishment - these students have progressed to the second stage of selection after the review of 1,514 Semifinalists who were chosen from among more than 103,800 applicants hoping to be named Coca-Cola Scholars this year. These high school seniors have made it through our extremely competitive second stage of selection. Regional Finalists have been notified of their advancement and will participate in virtual interviews with a committee of Scholar alumni and staff members in the coming weeks. After these interviews are complete, 150 of the 250 Regional Finalists will become Coca-Cola Scholars, receive a $20,000 scholarship, and be honored at the 2024 Scholars Banquet on April 25 in Atlanta.

Dear River Hill Families,

Here is the latest information regarding exams next week. Also, please note that the end of the 2nd quarter has been moved to THURSDAY, JANUARY 25. Detailed schedules are below. School will still remain closed for students this Monday, January 22, 2024.

Tuesday, January 23, 2024 (A Day)

Important Information:

The exams scheduled for Friday, January 19 will now take place on Thursday, January 25. The end of Quarter 2 will also be moved to Thursday, January 25.
On Tuesday, January 23, AM and PM classes will be held at ARL. PM ARL students need to report to the bus immediately after Period 4A. Students in semester courses will report to Semester 1 classes for Periods 2-6 as Quarter 2 now ends on January 25.
On Wednesday, January 24, AM and PM classes will be held at ARL. PM ARL students will report to ARL for the Periods 4B and 6 exams after eating during the first lunch shift. Students in semester classes will report to Semester 1 classes for Periods 1, 2, 3, and 5.
On Thursday, January 25, AM and PM classes will be held at ARL. Students in semester courses will report to Semester 1 classes for Periods 1,2, 3, and 6.
Any additional schedule changes related to weather delays/closures will be communicated as quickly as possible.
