They will be traveling to Connecticut following the February vacation for the Regionals. Our other team of Jake Terrio, Davion Dawkins, Michael Considine, Shaun Lopez, and Caleb Escher made it to the semifinals. All students represented Monomoy with class, commitment, and character.
~Mr. Souza and Mr. Oldach
Monomoy Regional High School’s Team 39045A and 39045B competed Thursday at DY Regional High School for the Vex Over Under 2023-2024 competition. After undergoing many challenges and three days of qualifiers, both teams qualified for the knockout tournament for the final event.
Our newest robot, 39045B made it to the quarter-finals, which we are super proud of since it is the first full year of competition. Jake Terrio (8th grade) worked very hard alongside Davion Dawkins (8th grade) and Michael Considine (11th grade) to ensure their position. Our older robot, 39045A, secured the victory for Monomoy by one scoring point. Our team -Kade Stephens, Lilly Chase, Josh Finkle, and Thomas Chase worked hard together to win 1st in the tournament and look forward to competing at Regionals. We are super excited about this experience and want to thank our Teachers, Mr.Souza and Mr.Oldach for helping us accomplish this goal. Can’t wait to see what happens in Connecticut!!
~ Thomas Chase (10th grade)
Lunar New Year Celebration!
Monomoy High's amazing Mandarin teacher, Melinda Jones, invited students and faculty to come and celebrate the Lunar New Year last Saturday in Hyannis. Monomoy students helped attendees make lanterns and dumplings, play ancient sporting games, play mahjong, and write in Chinese calligraphy. Ms. Jones' talented daughter, Cassandra, entertained the crowd by playing the Guzheng, an instrument that's over 2,500 years old!
Enjoy the following photos from Ms. Jones, Ms. Berbero, and Ms. Forte-Doyle. Many thanks to Chemistry teacher Beth Dietz for all her help in preparing for the event. The following students were a great help and can be found in the photos: Blake Noonan, Kassandra and Isabella Cruz, Davion Dawkins, Anna Borzilleri, Dante Rossetti, Sean Garland, and Sydney Sarabia

SAVE THE DATE: All Arts Night - Feb. 15
The MRHS community is so excited to bring back our district-wide All Arts Night.
It was created before we became Monomoy at Harwich High School and ended the last year in 2014 before students moved into the new high school. Unfortunately, it did not become a tradition at Monomoy until Libby Anderson, class of 2021, brought it back for her Gold Scout Gold Award project in 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we haven’t had another All Arts Night since 2020, and we’re so excited that despite the many obstacles, we are finally hosting it again!
Doors open at 6:30pm for a concert featuring the HS Jazz Band, combined MS/HS Chorus, and a teaser from our upcoming musical Beauty and The Beast! We hope to see you all there!
