Course Description: The Intermediate First Aid Course is a comprehensive, hands-on, two-day program designed to equip participants with essential first aid skills for responding to a range of injuries and emergencies. Through interactive learning, attendees will gain knowledge in CPR, wound care, managing fractures, and more, with a focus on practical application. Intermediate First Aid training is focused on Basic Life Support skills and follows the new CSA standards Z1210-17 and the “Alberta Plus” standards. It includes AED and CPR level C training (adult, child and infant).
Dates offered: January 11 & 12 (both days) and January 25 & 26 (both days)
Location: Salisbury Composite High School 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Cost is $85 which includes all materials
How to Register for First Aid:
If your child is already attending an EIPS school in the current year, you can register and pay for First Aid courses by logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal the same way you usually do to pay fees. You do not need to create a new Parent Portal account to register for First Aid.
Once you are logged into the Parent Portal...
Select the student fees icon (the green dollar sign) under the navigation menu
Click on the appropriate student’s name tab that you want to register
Select the appropriate First Aid course(s) in which you’d like to register
Pay for the item/s in your cart
Students are not considered registered unless payment for the First Aid course is made at the time of check-out.
Please note: Each of your children already attending an EIPS school must be linked to your Parent Portal account in order for you to be able to view and pay their fees through this system. Visit our PowerSchool page for instructions on how to create a Parent Portal account and link all of your children to that single account.

RAP Opportunity - Millwright/Industrial Mechanic (Full Time)
Summary
RAP (Registered Apprenticeship Program) students will have an opportunity to apply for one of two 5-month terms: February to June and September to January this will offer the students hands-on work experience in our fractionation facility and will be indentured into the Alberta Apprenticeship Program. During the program, RAP students will receive a wage.
What the role entails?
Millwrights/Industrial Mechanics install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process and mechanical equipment used in industrial processing. The mechanical equipment may include pumps, various types of compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, mechanical seals, and alignments.
What would you learn about in this role?
· What it means to LOTO (hazardous energy isolation) equipment safely.
- Maintaining and repairing all types of mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and replacing defective equipment parts.
- Reading blueprints and design drawings.
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Requirements:
· MUST work with local RAP Coordinator or school counsellor to confirm eligibility to RAP program.
· All roles require a current, valid Canadian driver's license. Please note that before being cleared to report to work, you will be required to successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Records check to verify the status of your driver’s license.
· A minimum requirement for this Canadian based position is the ability to work legally in Canada.
Candidates must be willing and able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
· Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Be able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights.
· Be able to work in tight or closed-in spaces.
· Be able to wear all required personal protective equipment, i.e., approved safety boots, hard hat, fire retardant coveralls, safety glasses and gloves appropriate for the assigned work.

- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and replacing defective components on electrical systems.
- Reading electrical, logic, and loop diagrams.
- Electronic troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Procedure use - this includes field use, review, revision, and development of procedures.
Requirements:
