GCPS invites all families grades K-5 to attend a virtual "AKS Spotlight Family Night" led by the Director of the Teaching and Learning Office on January 25 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Join us to learn about the curriculum being taught in the classroom and learn strategies and activities to support your children at home.

Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.

Collaborative Leadership

GCPS students build relationships with trust and compassion by making principled choices. They have a win-win mindset, and strive to listen and encourage diverse perspectives to collaborate towards a common goal. Working together, they can take risks and manage new technologies or opportunities to positively impact their communities.

Friday, February 2 is a scheduled Digital Learning Day (DLD) for all students.

This is the third of four at-home asynchronous learning days this school year that will provide additional planning time for teachers.

Note that students can access lessons in eCLASS but will not have virtual class time with their teachers on these scheduled DLDs.

On Friday, February 2, GCPS will provide meals via bus distribution. Families should expect buses to run their routes starting at approximately 10:45 a.m., beginning with the first stop on the route.

We are seeking English-speaking Camp Creek parents interested in volunteering ONE hour a week for one-on-one conversation support for Camp Creek parents enrolled in our Spring Semester Adult English class. Our Cubs earn Cubby Cash for following “PAWS” at school.

Cubby Cash is awarded when students are: Practicing Good Manners, Actively Participating, Working Together, and Showing Self Control.

Cubs then get to spend their Cubby Cash at the Cubby Cash Store each month!

Each January, we join as a community to recognize National Mentoring Month and work to cultivate a culture of belonging to show each and every student that they are not alone. This month, we celebrate the power of empathy, equity, and supportive and meaningful mentor relationships.

Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is inviting parents and community members to apply for the district’s Instructional Resources Review Committee (IRRC), a group charged with evaluating print and digital instructional resources.

Feedback from the IRRC and teacher reviews will be considered in the selection of resources to pilot in the district. This year’s IRRC will convene on Thursday, Feb. 29, at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center, located at 437 Old Peachtree Road, NW, in Suwanee.

Instructional resources will be reviewed for courses in the areas of Sex Education (grades 5-9) and Career and Technical Education (select courses in grades 9-12). Learn more about the IRRC and complete the application online. The deadline to submit completed applications is Thursday, Feb. 1.
