This week's newsletter will attempt to explain our COVID procedures so that the process is clear for all families and caregivers.
As always, if you have any questions, please call our main office at (415) 330-1540.

Student Testing
In the mean time, if you need testing for your child, here are your options:
Rapid Antigen Testing: Register Here
-Bret Harte ES (1035 Gilman) on Thursday, January 6th, from 7:40-9:00AM.
-Paul Revere ES (555 Tompkins Ave.) on Friday, January 7th, from 8:40-10:00AM
-SFUSD Main Office (555 Franklin St) on Saturday/Sunday, January 8th and 9th, from 9am-4PM
COLOR Testing:
-If your child is listed as a "close contact" to someone and needs to quarantine for 5 days, your child can use a self-swab test on/after day 5 of quarantine.
-You must pick up and register for a COLOR account at Carver. You must have an active email address, and you will be able to take the swab kit home with you.
-After day 5, you must swab the inside of your child's nose, then turn the test kit in at 834 Toland Ave. by 4:00PM on the SAME DAY as the swab was taken.
-Results will be emailed or text to you in 24-48 hours.
You may also go to your own pediatrician, clinic, or health maintenance organization.
Upon receipt of a NEGATIVE test result, you may print it out, or email the results to Mrs. White (whitec1@sfusd.edu).
Your child may return to school after a 5 day quarantine, and a negative COVID test result, administered after the 5th day.
Who is a close contact?
This means that 5 minutes in the cafeteria, 5 minutes in the classroom, and 5 minutes during recess, near a COVID+ person could mean that your child is listed as a close contact.
All close contacts who are NOT vaccinated, must quarantine for 5 days, and be tested on or after the 5th day.
If your child is FULLY vaccinated, he/she does NOT have to quarantine, but we will continue to watch for symptoms.
You will receive a personal phone call from the principal and/or secretary as well as a letter from our main office either in hand or by mail if your child is listed as a close contact.
If we receive information about a COVID+ case during the school day, and your child is listed as a close contact, you will be asked to come get your child from school immediately, and begin the 5 day quarantine.
We regret the inconvenience that this may cause families, and we also appreciate the community working together to keep all of our students and staff safe.
General Exposure Notices
If you do not receive a personal phone call from Principal Manning or Mrs. White, your child is NOT a close contact, and should continue to come to school.
The purpose of that notice is to inform families of an exposure within the school community, but you do not need to take any action.
