Health Office News
The Health Office has seen an increase in the number of students with normal cold symptoms, as well as GI illnesses. Below is a reminder of the illness policy in Central Bucks. If your child becomes ill at school and meets the criteria below, one of the nurses will call the first person on the emergency contact list to arrange for a pickup.
If your child is sick at home, and you are unsure if they should return, feel free to call the Health Office, or email me and we can talk it through.
Central Bucks reserves the right to exclude children from school based on the following criteria:
- Illness that prevents the child from participating in activities.
- Fever (100.4 or higher). Students may not return to school until free of fever without fever medication for 24 hours.
- Diarrhea or vomiting during the previous 24 hours. Student may not return to school until their appetite has returned to normal.
- Rash with a fever.
- Other conditions deemed appropriate after assessment by the certified school nurse and/or the staff nurse.
Stay Healthy!
