Principal Message
Happy New Year and welcome back!!!!!! A few items to note:
~ PTO Family Game Night: Mark your calendar for an exciting PTO Family Night. On Friday, January 26 the PTO will be hosting a Family Game Night from 6:30-8:00pm. A few details:
* Please enter Door #3 so that your kiddos can sign in to win door prizes.
* Silent Auction baskets will be available for auction so bring your checkbook!
* The Dork Den will be here showcasing a game or two!
* Please eat before you come, as we are asking for no food or drink--we do not want games getting ruined.
* Please bring your own game(s). The Blue Earth County LIbrary and the North Mankato Taylor Library have games available for check out if you'd like to try something new!
* Should we need to cancel due to weather, the back up date is Friday, February 2.
* Donations of new games/cards for door prizes OR items that could be included in silent auction baskets that are family friendly are being accepted. Donations can be brought to the Washington office at any time.
~ Early Release due to weather: Do you know your child's plan should we be released from school early due to weather? You would have entered this information when you did your Census Registration in the summer. IF these plans have changed, please make sure you communicate with your child's teacher in advance of a potential weather situation.
~ Mark your calendar: For those of you who like to plan ahead, please mark your calendar for our Spring Music Concert. The concert will be repeated 3 times throughout the day on Wednesday, April 24. Exact times yet to be determined, and we will use last names to assign times for parents to attend (please know if these assigned times do not work, it's ok--you can come when it works in your schedule).
~ No School on Monday, January 15 due to the MLK Jr. Holiday, and no school on Monday, January 22 as this is the end of the semester and a professional development day for teachers.
As always, thank you for your support--it matters!

Robotics Course
Ok, I'm a little biased as some of my own kiddos do robotics, but Community Rec has asked us to remind parents of this opportunity: We have a variety of Robotics courses available for youth after school. Courses are starting as early as THIS WEEK. We want to make sure parents and kids know about these opportunities (most available at your community school). Register online or call 507-387-5501 for registration assistance. See flyer for course information, dates, locations and times.
STEM Reusable Materials Request
I hope this message finds you well. As we continue to prioritize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for our students, we are reaching out to families for support with reusable materials for students to build and construct.
Here is a list of items we are looking for:
Fabric Scraps
Empty Water Bottles
Plastic Bottles
Tissue Boxes
Small Wood Scraps
If you have any reusable items to spare, please drop them off at our school office by Thursday, January 25th. Look for the STEM Reusable Box located near (or in) the office.
Thank you for your support in fostering a love for STEM education among our students.
