Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday and great week back. We now head into the month of December, which is sure to be a busy one. Please take note that the December calendar has been updated and it is attached below.

News, Updates & Reminders:

* Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for next Thursday afternoon. Classroom teachers may have sent you a Google Invitation with your scheduled time and whether or not your conference will be in person or on the phone. If you are scheduled to have a phone call conference, then teachers will call you when it is your scheduled time. We will use the phone number information listed on your child's emergency card.

* Orders from the Savoy School Store have arrived. We will send home the orders with your student this afternoon. Thank you to Andrea Frew for her efforts in bringing this opportunity to our school.

* Aftercare enrollments and changes will be accepted this week. Please contact me directly, if you are in need of an Aftercare application. Applications close at the end of next week for the second trimester.

* Ski Club Updates:

Pick-A-Date to Donate Calendars are due! (Due date: Friday December 1st)

Craft Fair Chinese Auction item is due! (Due date: Friday December 1st: valued $5-$10, 1 item per family, dropped off to the school)

Invoices will be sent home with students next week and are due back by Monday, December 11th.

* Staffing Update - Ms. Kayla will no longer be with us at Emma Miller School beginning today. She will be pursuing her own private, home daycare. I am sure you join me in wishing her the very best as she moves on to new adventures and thank her for the time that she spent with us. We will be posting for this position early next week and hope to fill it before the holiday break. In the meantime, please contact me directly with any office questions, and we appreciate your patience and support during this transition period.

Planning Ahead:

* We will have a half day of school on Friday, Dec. 22nd. This will also be Pajama Day and we will enjoy some hot cocoa and Christmas donuts in our classrooms to celebrate the holidays. We will also have a visit from Santa Leo on that day!

* We will return back to school on Tuesday, January 2nd from the holiday break.

* The MCAS 2024 Tentative Schedule is as follows: Please note that it is subject to change. We appreciate everyone's efforts in avoiding any time out of school during these dates.

MCAS ELA - April 9th & 10th
MCAS MATH - May 7th & 8th
MCAS STE (Gr. 5) - May 14th & 15th

PTG Updates & Reminders:

* The next PTG meeting will take place on Monday, Dec. 11th at 5:00pm. Please join us if you can.

Health & Safety:

* IMPORTANT - We continue to have students coming to school unprepared to be outside in the cold, Savoyan weather. Please know that students will go outside everyday, so having all of their winter gear is very important for their health & safety. Our emergency supply is limited and dwindling fast. We appreciate everyone's attention and efforts in having your student prepared for the outdoors. Thank you.

* There has been a slight uptick in Covid cases following the holiday. If you have any questions regarding the school's Covid protocols, please visit the website below for more information or contact Nurse Kate.
