Please remind your scholar to charge their Chromebook every night.

Expert tip - set it next to the backpack so they can easily put it in their school backpack on the way out the door. Chromebooks are used DAILY in classes. If your child has lost their charger, please contact the school.

Congratulations to all 10th grade students who participated in the Personal Project Celebration on January 18th. During the event, there was an opportunity to recognize projects that stood out in some way and could be nominated to receive a "Personal Project of Distinction" award by students, families, and staff members. Please see the list below of students who were recognized as Personal Projects of Distinction.

Snow Week is next week from Monday, February 6th to Friday, February 11th! We will have dress up days, a medallion hunt, Coed Volleyball Wednesday evening, Fun Lunch Thursday with the 3 on 3 basketball tournament, Pepfest Friday, Dance Saturday, and more! Check out the calendar below!

Winter Wonderland is the theme of the Snow Daze Dance on Saturday, February 11th from 7:00pm-10:00 in the FHS cafeteria. Tickets are $10 each and are pre-sale only, and guests are welcome by submitting out request form (forms available during pre-sale).

Please join us for Open Mic Night, presented by the FHS Concert Choir on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00pm in the FHS Auditorium. This free event will be a laid back night to hear some talented students sing solos, duets, and small group selections, and will feature student-chosen songs from today's well-known hits and more.

Graduation is coming! This year's commencement ceremony will take place on our very own Fridley High School Football Field!

We have started collecting the senior participation fee for any senior wishing to participate in the commencement ceremony on Thursday, June 1st at 7pm. If you are a parent/guardian of a 12th grader and have not paid this fee, please submit your $40.00 graduation fee to Fatima Alnizami in the main office as soon as possible.

Hello Families,

February is Black History Month, and we will be serving some new items to our students. Nutritional Services worked with a group of High School students to plan several different menu items. On February 16th we will be serving Jollaf Rice with the Jerk Chicken. Jolllaf Rice is a rice dish from Western Africa and is made from white rice, tomatoes, onions and spices all cooked together. Next on February 23 we will be serving Gumbo with rice. Our gumbo will be made with Thousand Hills Beef Andouille Sausage (from Becker, MN). Gumbo is popular in the Southern United States, especially in Louisiana. Gumbo can be made with a variety of different meats and the High School Students were very excited that we would try this dish. The final request was Collard Greens and those will be served on February 27 or 28, depending on the school. We hope that you will encourage your students to try these menu items and experience some different flavors and cuisines.

If your families, income has changed, you can still apply for Educational Benefits (free/reduced priced meals). The application can be completed online through the Campus Portal at https://fridleymn.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/parents/fridley.jsp If you do not have Campus Parent Portal access, paper applications can be found at your school's office or on the Nutritional Services Web Page. Please check your students lunch balance, we have quite a few students who have a negative lunch balance. If you are having trouble paying your outstanding lunch balance, please contact Kathy Backstrom at 763-502-5021 to discuss payment options. If your child is bringing a cold lunch and wants a milk, the cost is $0.55, and your child needs to have money in their account.

Interactive menus and pdf menus are posted on the Nutritional Services website. Please note that menus are subject to change due to supply chain and staffing issues. The most current menus are found on using the Titan link on the Nutritional Services web page. If you have any menu questions or concerns, please contact Renee Arbogast at 763-502-5022.

Middle and High School students will need to have their bar code card, student id, picture of their bar code or the bar code on the Campus Student App at the cashier station.

For the 2022-23 school year all students eligible for transportation MUST request by this form: https://www.fridleyschools.org/-us/departments/transportation

If we do not receive a form, your student will not be assigned to a bus. This process is new this year due to the driver shortage. Please submit the form as soon as possible to ensure your student(s) has a bus stop assigned.

Please read the documents below for our updated practices for maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment in Fridley Public Schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

With seasonal flu, RSV, and other respiratory illnesses on the rise, remember to keep your students home when they have a fever of 100 degrees or higher, are throwing up, have diarrhea, or are generally not feeling well. Please teach your kids how and when to wash hands with soap and water, cover their cough, and how and when to use hand sanitizer, to help decrease the spreading of germs.

Don't want to miss an announcement from us, or want to be alerted if your child is absent from class, as well as stay up to date on their coursework? Complete your Campus Parent Portal account. The Parent Portal is designed specifically for parents, providing school information at your fingertips with real-time access to announcements, attendance, assignments, Transportation, grades (if applicable), schedules and more. Parents can view all children they are assigned as guardian to and that are currently enrolled in Fridley Public Schools, grades PreK 12. Each parent/legal guardian should create their own account for their children.
