Dress According to Handbook
Too many of our scholars
are deliberately violating
dress code expectations, as
a result dress code will be in
full affect with immediate
consequences.
* Our dress code colors
are Hunter Green or
Black with khakis.
*If a scholar is out of
dress code we will
attempt to correct it
with uniforms we may
have left on campus.
* If not scholar will be
allowed to call home
for someone too bring
a change of clothing
* Periodically PTO may have a Free Dress Day on Friday's, listen for the announcements and how to participate in that event.
Student Code of Conduct
Remind our scholars to
become familiar with the
Student Code of Conduct.
We recognize that we are all
under a lot of stress with the
uncertainties from this
pandemic, however we all
must function together on
AMS campus.
I'm asking, that you please
have discussions with your
scholars about the
importance of not fighting
while on campus.
We will not tolerate fighting of any
kind. We are servant leaders
and find ways to help each
other and to be kind to each
other.
If your scholar feels
that they are being harassed,
bullied or mistreated by
peers or staff they need to
let an adult know and not
take matters into their own
hands.
If scholars fight and don't
allow the campus adults an
opportunity to intervene and
help resolve the issue the
proper way we will issue the
maximum consequences.
Please help us out with this
matter as we go forth.
A Note From Principal Brown
It's Testing time at Austin Middle School. Our first test is Tuesday 2/28 and it's our Reading Benchmark test, on Wednesday March 1st we will be taking our Math Benchmark test. We treat the Benchmarks as if actual STAAR test, therefore we will have a closed campus to visitors those two days. We need all scholars to report to school on those days. This is a pretty good gauge on how ready our scholars really are for STAAR, so we encourage them to take it very seriously.
I still want our scholars to make sure they are helping to contribute to a healthy and safe campus and want to remind them that if they see something, they need to say something. Don't be a spectator, when something bad is happening on campus.
As always, I am here to serve you, please don't hesitate to reach out if you should need us for anything.
Again, thanks for all you do to help make Austin Middle School a great place for learning. Help me remind our scholars to stay focused and follow the campus expectations.
Thanks,
Mr. Brown
We have some amazing scholars here at Austin Middle School. Many of them volunteered at the Food Bank this past Friday! Giving Back is what we do.
