Elizabeth High School students attend All-State Choir
We are proud of our exceptional Elizabeth High School singers Megan Rasmussen (junior) and Tessa Smith (senior) for passing two challenging auditions to participate in Colorado All-State Choir over the weekend.
Being selected to participate in the all-state choir is one of the more prestigious achievements for a high school musician. About 2,000 high school juniors and seniors audition each year and just 500 are selected.
Tessa received the opportunity to sing with the Mixed Choir and Megan with the Treble Choir. They worked with world-renowned composers and conductors throughout two days and the third day culminated with beautiful choral performances at the Buell Theatre.
Culinary students create art with food
Chef Steve Harden from the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts visited the Culinary Nutrition classes at Elizabeth High School to teach students culinary principles and application of art principles of design. He also shared information about career and education options in the culinary field.
Students applied the principles they learned from Chef Harden to create their own edible presentations using brownies, strawberries and blueberries.
