Family Conferences March 15th and March 24th
The second trimester ends on March 11th and teachers will have important progress note information along with winter assessment results. Teachers who share children will provide homeroom teachers information to share and we can add any other teacher that works with your child onto the conference, please just request this from your child's homeroom teacher.
I will be present both nights! Stop by my office for a chat, or schedule a meeting in advance to be sure and catch me if you wish.
Report Cards will be mailed on March 15th. RNESU Portrait of a Learner links, below, will be helpful in reviewing report cards and prior to Family Conferences.

Summer Learning Academy
Lothrop School will be hosting its own Summer Learning Academy this summer. Activities will include targeted Reading, Math, and Writing intervention and instruction, outdoor play, and facilitated weekly projects. We will continue to coordinate with the Pittsford Recreation so that our learners do not have to choose between Summer Learning Academy and the Rec programing
Summer Learning Academy will run from July 11- August 5, 2022, from 8:00 AM-11:00 AM There will be no transportation to and from Lothrop. Please sign up ASAP by filling out this SURVEY so that I can schedule staffing. We will have a K-2 group and a 3-6 group.

Health Protocols for Optional Mask Decision
Mask wearing is a personal choice for adults and a parental choice for students with the following exceptions:
Illness
“Sick people should not be at school.” - Dr. Rebecca Bell
Stay home when you are sick
Any person with symptoms of illness should stay home until they have been fever-free, without the use of medication, for 24 hours and have markedly improved symptoms. Anyone ill at school, will be sent home.
Covid Testing
2 negative antigen tests, as close to 24 hours apart as possible, or 1 PCR or LAMP test are recommended before returning to school for anyone with the following symptoms:
Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath, Chills, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or Vomiting, Diarrhea or New loss of taste or smell.
Testing for new symptoms is recommended even for those who have tested positive within the last 90 days
If a person has tested positive for COVID and returns to school before Day 10, a mask will be required at school through Day 10.
Does your child have symptoms?
Notify the school nurse of any student with symptoms of illness. Antigen and LAMP tests are currently available at all RNESU schools.
Exposure
If a person is identified as a close contact outside of school, of someone with COVID-19, a mask will be required at school through Day 10. (Close contact means being within 6 feet, for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period, of someone with COVID)
- If a person is identified as a presumptive contact, a mask will be required at school through Day 10. (Presumptive contact means a student or staff member who shared a classroom with someone with COVID.)

The clinics listed below are school-based clinics offering the pediatric Pfizer vaccine. This is not a complete or exhaustive list of all places where the pediatric vaccine is being offered – other locations include pharmacies and community clinics. For a full list of available clinics, and to register, visit healthvermont.gov/MyVaccine.
Some of these clinics are only offering the pediatric vaccine, others may also have adult vaccine available.

Meetings
For the time being, The Lothrop PTO meets the second Wednesday of the month ONLINE at 6:30pm. ALL Lothrop families are considered members of the PTO and are welcome to attend meetings. Meeting notices/invites will be posted in the private Facebook group.

We are always looking for folks willing to help with various tasks and events so please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to contribute.
