We will be hosting a Career Week for our Grade 10 students from December 14th-18th. Community partners will provide virtual presentations to our students, highlighting a variety of careers to help them design their future. This is an excellent complement to the Grade 10 Careers Course.

Mr. Winsa joined our faculty in 2019. He teaches Computer Science, Tech Design and Business classes.

Here are three fun facts about Mr. Winsa, in his own words:

" I have been playing guitar for over 30 years (Mr. Taillefer taught me guitar) - I have a song in a short film called ‘Hi Honey’ that won best comedy at the Big Island Film festival:

I am an avid hockey fan and have been playing and coaching for almost 40 years; I once played hockey with the Tragically Hip:

I graduated from Lo-Ellen many moons ago, and my favourite part of Lo-Ellen was the community - the sports, the clubs, and the amazing staff…all of which is true today!"

This week Mrs. Newman's Grade 9 Applied Science class was learning about static electricity. The group went outside to blow up and charge the balloons. They then introducing salt and sugar to the charged balloons to see what the results would be, and a had a ton of fun!

2020 graduates in grades 8 and 12 would have received an email from Principal Potvin about their virtual graduation ceremonies, and a graduation package that will be sent in the mail. Please check your inbox!

In addition to boxes and boxes of single-serve food items, we collected $2 273.50!

Ms. Yauk's homeroom collected an impressive $1386.25. Bravo, and merci.

Tuesday December 8 will be a truly historic day!

Lockerby and Lo-Ellen Park staff and students put down the sabres and join forces to raise funds for the Children's Aid Society. All students and staff are encouraged to donate $2 and wear their school colours to show our spirit. Funds will be collected in period 3 classes, and gathered up by Student Council members.

Let's crush the competition by raising more money and help youth in need!

Congratulations for the Junior and Senior Boys' Volleyball teams! The Juniors made to City Finals, and the Senior's captured the City Championship! Many thanks to Coach MacVeigh, Coach Schweyer, and Coach Green for their leadership.
