The family survey opened Tuesday, January 16 and closes Friday, February 23. Below is a link to complete a survey about family school partnerships. The survey is anonymous and will take around 15 – 20 minutes to complete. The results will be compiled into school level climate reports. These reports will be used by district leadership and school staff to continue the positive work of our schools while identifying and addressing current needs.

Auditions will be on March 13 starting at 3:30 p.m. You are dismissed after your audition. Callbacks will be on March 14 starting at 3:30 p.m. Plan to stay until the end of callbacks. Auditions are closed (no students may watch) and callbacks are open (students who auditioned or who are involved in tech for the show are welcome to watch).

Please prepare a 1 minute comedic monologue from a stage show of your choosing (no movie monologues, please). Suggested selections include Clue, Noises Off, Murder Well Rehearsed, Backstage, The Real Inspector Hound, Curtains, The Drowsy Chaperone, Lend Me a Tenor, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Foreigner, Blithe Spirit, Boeing Boeing, Don't Dress for Dinner, and other farce or meta comedies. Please also be prepared to engage in improv and cold reads for callbacks. Auditions will be called in the order of the sign up. If you need to move your slot, please speak to the Stage Manager or Assistant Stage Manager at auditions and they will help to reorder the slots.

Counselors will be in math classrooms February 12th-15th to go over the registration process. Please talk to your students about next year's courses, and encourage them to talk to their teachers about their recommendations.

Reminder, first round Warren Tech applications are due February 9. Offers will be sent out March 5. Parent/Guardian will have 3 days to accept the offer.

Students can start their Drivers Ed course at 14 and 6 months at Community Driving School. Select Golden High at registration.

GHS PTA has been providing After Prom for GHS juniors and seniors (and their guests) for over 35 years. This event is free to all juniors and seniors at GHS, regardless of their academic or attendance record and whether they attend prom or not. It is meant to provide a fun and safe night out to celebrate with friends.

All parking passes have been and continue to be sold out for the remainder of the school year. Those parked on campus will be ticketed. Repeat offenders will be booted and all tickets must be paid before the boot is removed. Once all parking tickets are paid, a receipt must be shown to a campus supervisor to remove the boot. Campus supervisors are available for boot removal from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. on school days.

Linked here is a map that shows parking options nearby. Don't park in the blue zone, the city tickets daily. The red lines are closest. The best one is Lookout View Dr. There is a bridge at Grand Court that crosses the ditch, and it's only 1 block from Dominos/Santiago's etc. where most kids walk to for lunch. Not ideal but gets them close to GHS. Also, local businesses have recently expressed concern with people waiting in business parking lots next to the campus to pick up students after school. The businesses are asking for people to please not use their lots to park and wait for students. This has started to negatively impact the businesses and their customers, and it is important the school is a good neighbor to our business and home owner partners. We are/have been working with the City of Golden and the district on our parking and traffic issues. Please know this is an important issue, and we are actively working to make the situation better.

In addition, Golden High School has teamed up with Way to Go to offer Schoolpool, a safe carpool matching service. Schoolpool connects neighboring families who may be a good fit for driving, walking or biking to school together. For more information see this flier.

Those who are planning to attend Sadies on February 10th and prom on April 20th, a 90% attendance rate is mandatory. Excused absences do not count against you. Don't let your attendance be the reason you cannot attend a dance.

Golden Demon Athletes - Spring Sports Registration is OPEN. The deadline for Athletic Registration is 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 16. To ensure that your student/athlete will be allowed to tryout or practice with the team - their registration must be completed by the deadline. You will receive an email notification for athletic registration clearance. Please register your student/athlete today.

The SPRING sports season will begin Monday, February 19. (Boys Swim and Girls Golf). All other spring sports will begin on February 26. Spring sports offered at GHS are: Girls Soccer Girls Tennis, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Golf, Boys Swimming, Boys Lacrosse, Baseball, Track and Field

January 30 and 31 4:30 - 6:00 PM at Golden High School cafeteria. Performance on Sat, February 3, 2:30 PM for the GHS varsity basketball during halftime at Golden High School.
