HILLSIDE, IL - The Proviso East Lady Pirates Flag Football team won the West Suburban Gold Flag Football Championship 20 -13 over Morton High School on Saturday, October 21. Junior, Maritza Saenz threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to win the game with 1 minute left in the game.
The Lady Pirates are undefeated with a record of 8-0. They will advance to the elite eight, which is the final eight teams remaining in the state championship playoff series. Their next game will be in Lake Forest at Halas Hall on Saturday, October 28.
Congratulations to coach Diana Johnson, coach Phil Maclin and the girls. We wish them good luck as they move ahead and compete for the Girls Flag Football State Championship!
