Announcements and Reminders
Course Verification Process - Action Required
Your course selection for next school year at Seckinger High School is now available! Please carefully read the two attached documents for instructions. This is an opportunity for students to request to drop a course, add a course, OR change from one level of a course to another. Changes are not guaranteed. Changes will be granted on course availability and completion of the required prerequisites. There is no need to complete the Course Change Request form if no changes are requested. Drop/Add concludes on April 28.
All questions should be directed to seckingerscheduling@gcpsk12.org.
Summer 2023 Health and PE Class Information
Seckinger Community School will offer Health and PE courses this coming summer. Both classes will be taught online. Registration is open on Monday, January 30, and will close on Friday, May 5th, or until classes are FULL. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Addressing Concerns at School
GCPS finds that the quickest and most effective way to resolve a concern regarding your child is by addressing it at the most direct level. At Seckinger, we care about each and every student. Senior Honors Night
Our Senior Honors Night, including Departmental Awards, will take place on Thursday, April 27—more details to follow.

SKG Art & Design
The Atlanta High School Art Exhibition showcases the BEST artwork from 12 Regional Atlanta counties. This artwork will be on display this weekend at the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park. Please congratulate these AMAZING SKG student artists!
Classroom SPOTlights
Seniors
High school graduating seniors who have an overall “A” average, 90% or greater, will be exempt from taking local semester examinations for the second semester except when an EOC Assessment is required. High school graduating seniors who have an “A” average, 90% or greater, in a specific course may be exempt from taking a local second semester examination on a course-by-course basis.
Senior Yard Signs
If you wish to honor your graduate with a Senior Yard Sign from our school, there's still time! Last day to order is April 16th. Click here to order your personalized yard sign. Senior Yard Signs are available for purchase from our PTSA via Memberhub.

Attention Graduating Seniors: Please do not begin to request final transcripts to be sent to colleges until after June 2nd via GaFutures. This can only be done through GaFutures after the specified date above and it is free. If a college is not available through GaFutures, you submit $5 payment per copy on MyPaymentsPlus and pick it up from Seckinger after June 2nd in the front office. Please allow 3 business days for paper transcripts to be processed.
Dual Enrollment (Gwinnett Technical College)-LAST CALL
**Rising 11th and 12th grade students: Please email Dr. Renae Jackson (renae.jackson@gcpsk12.org) if you are interested in applying to the dual enrollment program at Gwinnett Technical College. There will be one last opportunity for students to receive application and registration assistance with a Gwinnett Technical College representative. Rising 10th grade students will not receive acceptance until after final grades are posted at the end of the school year.
Summer School: Summer School Registration is now available here. Please be sure to meet with your counselor before registering for a class to ensure you register for the correct class and semester. Registration closes May 26.

College and Career Center
Univision 34 Atlanta is now accepting applications for the “Liga de Campeones” scholarship! Applications are open until Sunday, April 30, 2023. The "Liga de Campeones" education initiative was founded by Univision 34 Atlanta in 2004, with the purpose of helping Georgia's Hispanic youth achieve their higher education goals. Since its beginning, dozens of outstanding students have received funding to further their academic dreams.
The winners of the "Liga de Campeones" scholarship stand out for their great entrepreneurial spirit and for their academic, athletic and community achievements. A total of 6 (six) winners will each receive $2,000 (Two Thousand dollars) and will be interviewed on one of the local Noticias 34 and Contigo Atlanta programs. SKG Athletics, Arts, & Club Activities
Updates
- Only Seckinger HS students and opposing HS students will be permitted in games without a parent. High School IDs will be checked.
- Students must leave school on game day and can return thirty minutes before the start.

- All elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult at all sporting events.
