Information for Rising 9th Graders
HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULING UPDATE
Right Now
We have several resources available to help students learn about the opportunities available to them! We encourage students and families to browse the resources listed below to learn about all our classes. Students are encouraged to take the next few weeks to discuss class recommendations and options with their families to help make informed decisions. Current 8th grade teachers will be talking with students about their academic options and recommendations over the next couple weeks.
Coming Up Next
The high school counselors are preparing recorded videos with this information that will be specific to each grade level. We plan to email those to students and families during the first week of February. It will be important for all students to view this grade-level presentation.
Families will receive a mailing in early February with step-by-step instructions for online scheduling. This will be sent prior to the online scheduling window.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Memories from the Building
In a short while, pre-construction activities will begin as part of the building of our new Junior High School. Our building has a long and wonderful history and holds many special memories for our community. Before demolition begins, the administration would like to understand what items may have significance or have been donated and need to be saved or returned to the donors.
If you know of any items that we should be made aware, please fill out this google form by February 12.

2020/2021 Immunization Requirements
Please turn in your required immunization paperwork to nurse Amy Bonham ASAP at jhimmunization@sycamoreschools.org.
In Ohio, the following vaccines are required by law:
7th-grade students must show proof that they have received (1) dose of Tdap, and (1) dose of MCV4 . This requirement must be met NO LATER THAN THE 14th day of attendance at school for the 2020-21 school year.

February 9 & 10: What Should My Virtual Student Do During F2F MAP Testing ?
Virtual students tested last week while F2F students engaged in PBIS Refreshers, Bullying presentations, and career activities or SHS Freshman Camp.
7th Graders:
Your student will receive emails from Mr. Brenner (career activities) and from Mr. Lavercombe (PBIS and Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying lessons) to do at their own pace on the mornings of MAP testing (8:02 am - 10:02 am)
8th graders:
February 9 - Your student will receive an email from Mr. Lavercombe with instructions on completing PBIS and Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying lessons at their own pace between 8:02 am and 10:02 am
February 10 - Your student will receive an email from Mr. Tilton at the High School with Freshman Camp activities in which to participate between 8:02 am - 10:02 am on Tuesday

What if I Missed Virtual Student Item Pick Up for 2nd Semester
If you missed virtual student item pick up, you may retrieve items for the below classes, from the main lobby between 7:30am-3:30pm. Please wear a mask when entering the building. Pick up items will be marked by class and teacher on tables. Any items still in the lobby by Friday, February 12th will be removed and returned to the teacher.
Students need to pick up items ONLY if they are taking any of the following classes for 2nd semester:
- Art 7
- Design, Modeling & Architecture
- Food, Fashion, & Family.
