Lambs Ledger
March 2023
Message from the Principal, Jamie McCarthy
We are celebrating Read Across America this month! Mrs. Smith, our librarian has done an outstanding creating authentic experiences for our students. Together we are reading The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. The book fair will be open, we have daily themes, host our Reading Tile Night! READING IS FOR EVERYONE!
Attendance is extremely important. Of course we don't want students to attend when they are sick, however I ask that you make every effort to have your child present at school everyday. If you student is unable to attend, it is imperative that you provide documentation to Ms. Campbell in the front office. She is the attendance guru and is willing to help you in any way!
Thank you for continuing to support us as we do our very best each and every day to provide your children with the best education possible!

First grade will study the art and career of New York artist Keith Haring and use watercolors to create POP ART! Second grade will explore cherry blossom trees and the art and style of Japanese artist Koichi Okada. Third grade will further explore Japanese art, and the Mt. Fuji series by HOKUSAI. Third graders will create a mixed media piece inspired by Hokusai's The Great Wave. Fourth graders will explore MOAI statues located on Easter Island, off the coast of Chile and draw their own MOAI statue! Fifth grade will study nature inspired stained glass art of architect Frank Llyod Wright and create their own stained glass art.
