A Message From Our Superintendent
September 29, 2020
Dear GPISD School Community,
Greetings!
Fall is finally here! After what seems like the longest spring and summer, our teachers and students are settling into the routine of being "back to school," even though it looks very different from any other "back to school" we have ever experienced. The return of volleyball and football games, though different, is another reassuring familiar hallmark of fall.
As we progress toward our phased-in plan of welcoming our GPISD students back to campuses, I urge our students and their families to continue to practice the health-related protocols we have been utilizing throughout the pandemic: masking up, social distancing and frequent handwashing.
I have been very impressed at the level of student engagement I have seen in the remote learning setting so far. I know it's different, and sometimes very difficult, but please know your best efforts are very much appreciated.
I continue to pledge to you and our entire school community, TOGETHER, WE WILL! Having to redesign almost everything we do in our schools has taught us valuable lessons about health, safety, and thinking outside the box to accomplish our objectives. We have learned more about ourselves, too--that we can and will rise to every challenge in our paths, with each other's help. Again, TOGETHER, WE WILL!
Be Safe,
John C. Moore, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools
