National School Social Worker Week
Wrightsboro's School Social Worker - Stacy Constantinou
My name is Stacy Constantinou. I am so lucky to be Wrightsboro's School Social Worker! I joined NHCS in 2005 as the ISS coordinator at Myrtle Grove MS and then became the School Social Worker at Holly Tree, Gregory and Masonboro Elementary Schools. In 2007 Gregory became my full time school until 2017 when I became a Wrightsboro Cool Cat! I love connecting with our amazing families and consider it a privilege to be of service.
I am a native of Pittsburgh, Pa and a huge Steelers fan. I have 3 wonderful adult children: Lizzie, Alex and Peter. Lizzie and her husband,Thomas welcomed my first grandbaby, Stella in June 2021. She is my sunshine!. They all live in Durham, NC so I spend many weekends visiting with them. I am super excited for Stella to become a big sister to her baby brother this summer!!
National School Breakfast Week
National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day.
#NSBW23 will take place March 6-10, 2023.
Did you know children who eat breakfast are more likely to...
- Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
- Score higher on standardized tests
- Have better concentration and memory
- Be more alert and maintain a healthy weight
But when the school week gets busy, it’s easy for students to rush out the door in the morning without having a nutritious meal. That’s why school breakfast is such a great option! In fact, students who participate in school breakfast tend to have better attendance rates and fewer behavioral problems.
The School Breakfast Program provides 12 million nutritious breakfasts to hungry children across the country every day.
