Principal's Fall Update
OHES Cubs Cruising Through the Fall!
Greetings from the halls of Orchard Hill!
Mrs. Caudill and I are proud to report it has been a positive & productive beginning to the school year here at OHES! Our students and staff have done a fantastic job of establishing routines and building classroom and schoolwide community. Our young learners are engaged in active learning centering on habits of good readers and writers, and developing their number sense in mathematics. Additionally, students at OHES observed Hispanic Heritage month by learning about famous musicians, artists, and authors.
Please continue reading for more important information, as well as details regarding events coming up at the school!
Wishing you all the best,
Mr. Van Hise
Halloween-Related Information
On Monday, October 31st, students from Orchard Hill will take part in one of two scheduled Halloween parades. Our AM parade will take place @ 10:40am and our PM parade will take place at 2:30pm. Once a schedule is finalized, it will be shared by the school and by homeroom teachers. Parents are invited to watch the parade outside along the bus lane adjacent to Orchard Road. Please keep in mind the following:
- All parents coming to watch the parade must park in the main parking lot, underneath the solar panels. Montgomery Township Police will be present to maintain our safety protocols.
- Parents are allowed to view the parade from either side of the bus lane.
In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled and only classroom parties will take place. Only the parents who have confirmed their assistance with these parties via the classroom teacher will be permitted into the building.
Costumes can be worn to school at the beginning of the day or brought with the student to change into at some point. Alternate activities will be prepared for those students that do not celebrate the holiday.
