It is important that we have accurate phone numbers, emails, and addresses for students in case of an emergency. Additionally, teacher-to-parent communication is very important in supporting students throughout the school year.

Please note - to make an address change official you must provide: a lease/mortgage agreement, electric bill, gas bill, or water bill.

Mobile Dentist
The mobile dentist will be at Northwest Elementary, January 11, 12, & 16.
Forms were already sent home and we ask that you return them by December 8th. If you need an additional one please stop in and ask the office for one. Thanks for your help in keeping our kids healthy!
MixxedFit: Round 2
Join us at Northwest (Door D), Wednesday, December 13th for a fun 45 minute hiphop fitness class. Move at your own ability and enjoy a fun workout!
The class is $5 per person and all proceeds go to the Northwest PTO. Doors will open at 4:45pm. Class will start 5:00pm. Wear comfortable clothing & bring water!
☕📚 #NWReadwithMe Winners! 📚☕
Last month we challenged our families to embrace home reading with a #NWRead with me challenge. Families read with/listened to their child read and tagged NW (@NW_Cedars). Winners received a hot cocoa package and a winter themed book to enjoy! Thank you to all of our families who participated!
Familes who completed the Treasure Bay Book survey, we unfortunately did not have enough interest to place the order. We hope to increase interest in the years to come!
🍲🥧 Warm, Hearty Meals 🥧🍲
Not only is reading together a great activity, cooking together can also foster healthy parent/child relationships. This can translate into students being more confident, eager to learn, and eager to succeed!

In November we received coats, hats, gloves and school supplies from Holy Trinity Lutheran church.
Northwest thanks you for your donation and support for our students and families. We greatly appreciate your generosity and our community partnership!
Also, thank you to Cool Beans Brew for coming during Parent/Teacher conferences. The drinks were delicious and we loved the pick-me-up during evening conferences. Thank you for our community partnership!
Supporting Our Cedars
Northwest was able to raise close to $500 for the Hunger and Homelessness Campaign that supports our Cedar Closet. Way to go Staff and Students!
If there are any families who are struggling with housing and/or food insecurity, please reach out to our social workers so that our school district can can support you! Additionally, please sign up for PowerPacks (see below).

December Important Dates
Friday, December 1st: Picture Retake Day
Picture retake day will take place Friday, December 1st. Information was sent home before fall break. Please stop by or call the office to have an additional copy sent home with your child.
Wednesday, December 6th: Report Cards
The last day of the trimester is November 29, 2023.
Report cards will be sent home December, 6th.
Friday, December 22nd through Monday, January 1st: Winter Break
There is no school Friday, December 22nd through Monday, January 1st. We wish our families a wonderful, warm winter break and a Happy New Year. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 2nd.

If your child misses school please, send a note within 3 school days of the absence.
You can email notes to:

Once your note is received you will be sent an email confirmation.
After 12 tardies (late to school) and/or 3 unexcused absences students will be put on a School Attendance Improvement Plan.
