Welcome to the 2023 - 2024 School Year
Welcome
Welcome to a new school year, a new administrative team, and a devoted teaching staff at SILC. The administrative team has been very busy finding our way in the SILC world. Mrs. Melissia Damur, Assistant Principal, has been a beacon to both Mr. Chad Starko, Assistant Principal and myself Mrs. Karen Antoniuk, Principal. We are thankful for the knowledge and care that she holds of the SILC community. It has been a true light.
The teaching team is a dedicated group of educators that care about the success of their students in the online world. They want to promote connection to their students, foster their faith and provide a high-level of learning. We are truly excited, to embark upon this year with you. Parents we are thankful for the partnership in keeping our students on track and excited about another school year.
I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all of our students, and their families, a very successful school year. Thank you for the faith and trust you have in us to educate your most precious gifts; we are very grateful.

EICS's Theme for the 2023 - 2024 School Year GO LIGHT OUR WORLD
Based on Matthew 5:16, this year’s theme for Elk Island Catholic Schools (EICS) calls upon all staff and students to Go Light Our World.
Matthew 5:16 reads: “Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
The verse was selected in the spring when our school chaplains were invited to begin brainstorming scripture and co-creating potential themes for the 2023-2024 school year. Once it was selected, all EICS staff were encouraged to suggest themes that they felt resonated with the scripture.
“The theme Go Light Our World speaks to our mission in Catholic schools: to make disciples and share the good news and gospel teachings,” explained Jody Seymour, the EICS Director of Student and Staff Formation who led the selection of this year’s theme and logo. “Through allowing Christ’s light into our hearts, we are called to share it with others through love, compassion, charity, and acts of service.”
