In case you haven't heard, our 1st-grade students flew to Japan this morning! The excitement as they presented their passports in the check-in line outside their classrooms (aka airport) was contagious. Over the next couple of weeks, they will be studying Japanese culture, geography, recreation, traditions, and language. We'll miss them while they are "gone" but cannot wait to hear about all of their adventures upon their return. Check out a few of our 1st-grade teachers getting ready for the flight!

ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge Registration
Did you know??
- All the proceeds from this event go directly back into our children's classrooms through grants awarded to teachers. Follow the ABC/25 Foundation on Twitter to see some of these fun innovative projects in action at our schools!
- If you register by 3/22, your race packet will be delivered directly to your SD25 school!
- Even if you cannot participate at the event, you can still register as a virtual runner to receive your t-shirt and race packet!

Parent-Teacher Conferences Spring 2019
Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22, 2019
At Olive-Mary Stitt Elementary School, we value a strong partnership between home and school. Twice a year, once in November and once in March, time is provided for you to meet with your child’s teacher for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Spring conferences are a great opportunity to receive information about current academic progress; however, it is not a time to discuss placement for next year. Details regarding how parents may share information for consideration in our placement process will be shared later in the spring.
Parents will be able to register for conferences online, using SignUpGenius. Directions and links to begin registering for conferences will be shared via email on Tuesday, 3/12/19 at 10 am. The window for registering for spring conferences will be Tuesday, 3/12/19 at 10 am through Tuesday, 3/19/19 at 10 am.
The conferences are scheduled in 20-minute increments. In order to be fair and equitable to all our OMS families, each family may register for only one evening conference per year. Families may choose to register for an evening conference in the fall or spring, not both.
4th/5th Grade Parents: The conference times are for meeting with your child’s homeroom teacher. If your child has a different teacher for math and you have specific math questions, please email him or her.
Please remember that these two days are set aside for the purpose of conferences, not as vacation days. If you will be out of town during the conference days, please consider contacting your child’s teacher to arrange a phone, Google Hangout, FaceTime, or Skype meeting during a regular conference time slot.
We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child's teacher on March 21st or March 22nd. Let's work together to make this a great, last trimester for your child!
