Spotlight On - 3rd Grade!

The third grade team is so proud of all the hard work that the students have put forth both at home and in the classroom. The students have been busy learning how to tell time, solve word problems using elapsed time, and round numbers to the nearest ten. In reading we are studying characters of fiction text, describing them using a variety of traits and supporting our reasoning with specific text evidence. The students are studying the author Patricia Polacco, and using her books to develop their own style of writing. Students are also becoming more aware and comfortable sharing their feelings and emotions through consistent mental health check-ins. The students in Groups AA and BB are adjusting well to their new normal by wearing their masks, staying 6 feet apart, and washing their hands often!

Spotlight on Wrightsboro's Guidance Counselors!

Mrs. Shelton and Ms. Hauss are pumped to be in the classroom and working with students on Social Emotional Learning face to face. We are currently working on Unit 2 of Sanford Harmony which deals with emotions and empathy. Some of the topics that will be covered in this unit include: walking in others shoes, understanding emotions (look, feel and sound like), empathy skills, and regulating one's emotions. These lessons are dones face to face and virtually through Seesaw and Google Classroom. We appreciate all the hard work that students are doing in person and online towards learning about their emotions and how to be empathetic towards others. Looking forward to even more thoughtful responses to your guidance lessons. And as always if you have any questions or any way that we can help don’t hesitate to reach out to us through phone, email, or dojo.
