Dear Alamo Families,
It's happening! Our library will open for students soon! We hired our Library Media Coordinator, Mrs. Kuhns, and construction is finished. Our resource and intervention teams will begin moving out of the library back to their classroom on February 2. Science and Art will start moving back to their new classrooms as well.
We look forward to the activities and events in the spring semester. Here are some to name a few: Book Fair, Talent Show, assemblies, field trips, Science Fair, Words Matter Week, Hoedown, and Silent Auction. Thank you for your continued support in making our events successful!
Have a great week, and Happy Lunar New Year!
Kindly,
Principal Salazar

We are actively looking for volunteers to join the PTA for the 2022-23 school year. We have so many fun things planned for our kids, but we will not be able to do them if we don’t get support. If you want to see the Hoedown, a Science Fair, a book fair, a yearbook, a holiday shop, a run club or any of the other programming PTA brings to our school, then please email dianafinster@gmail.com
Principal Chat, February 2 @ 6:30 pm via Zoom. We will discuss changing COVID protocols, construction updates, and exciting news for the library. Pre Registration is required HERE. Thank you!

Movie screening event: Chasing Childhood, January 27 - Feb 3
As the world reopens, there’s never been a better time for us to come together to ask ourselves: What do kids need most to thrive? Chasing Childhood examines how free play and independence have all but disappeared from kids’ lives, supplanted by relentless perfectionism and record-high levels of anxiety and depression. The film spotlights experts and families who are empowering young people to explore their independence, enjoy unstructured time, and be free to thrive. This is a FREE event for you and your family to watch the film. Click HERE for more information.

Amazon Wish Lists: Don’t forget to check out our Amazon Wish List for items our teachers would like in their classrooms! This list will be available year round and items are added as needed. Your Ed Fund Dollars at Work: We are busy taking photos of many of our staff members who are supported by your donations to the Ed Fund. Since parent access to campus is still quite limited, many of these individuals’ efforts are not as visible as in the past, but they are working harder than ever! This week we are highlighting Mrs. Border, one of our classroom paraeducators.

Mrs. Border
Mrs. Border has multiple duties on campus, but most adults will recognize her from her morning crosswalk duty where she gives a smile and a wave to each car and student. Additionally, she supervises recess & lunch and is the classroom paraeducator for grades 1 and 2. In her role as para, she assists students individually or in small groups according to what is needed by the teacher in each classroom. By the end of the day, she has typically seen each student on campus! We are so fortunate to have Mrs. Border helping our students and bringing her cheerfulness and expertise to Alamo since 2004!
