Glenn Public School Eagle Post
November 2023
Superintendent's Nest
Welcome to November! We survived October 31st with Mother Nature's scare: SNOW! With that being said, please make sure you send your child dressed to play outside in the morning along with being mindful of what the weather is supposed to be for the day.
We have the Circle of Lights coming up the day after Thanksgiving, November 24th from 5-7pm. This is a time we open the school up to everyone to come and see our school. The whole town will be decorated and glowing with cheer. If you would like to help decorate the school or town there is a committee formed and they are always looking for new members and/or helpers; I can get you in touch with them. The PTC orchestrates a wonderful fundraiser with “The Cookie Caper .” Donations of freshly baked cookies of all flavors are readily accepted to create an assortment of boxes to purchase. The PTC will also be selling hot cocoa and there will be crafts children can participate in throughout the classrooms. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our unique school and community.
During the month of November, we are accepting items for Operation Christmas Child. Each student will pack a shoebox to send to children who might not receive a Christmas gift this year. When students are involved in community service projects they develop empathy for others while realizing what kind of an impact they can make on others. Donations are accepted and will be placed under The Giving Tree near the office. Monetary donations are also accepted. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
Students continue to bring home a book monthly to add to their home libraries compliments of donations for local organizations and individuals. If you wish to donate to this initiative, I will gladly accept monetary donations. Teachers also send home Scholastic Book order packets where students can purchase books at a discounted price to help their reading skills and to build up their library at home. Reading at least 20 minutes per night is highly suggested for all students. Remember Readers are Leaders!
Getting enough rest, drinking lots of water, exercising daily and washing your hands are good reminders as we enter into the cold & flu season.
Sincerely,
Jamie Walle

Meet Liz Grigg
I graduated from Fennville Public School, and then attended Lake Michigan College for Radiology CT. I've had a few Jobs from Business Office Manager/ HR Assistant to being the Manager at Crane's Pie Pantry for 9 years. But no job has been more rewarding than my job as a mom. I have two children, Jordan and Landis. I'm now excited to take on my new role here at Glenn Public School.
In my down time I love doing arts and crafts with my daughter, spending time with my two cats, and looking up concerts to attend. Summer cookouts by the pool and long hot days don't last long enough. But don't get me wrong I also love enjoying a cold day wrapped in a blanket with a good movie or TV Series on.
