One Week Left

As the days wind down, the fun gears up. This week we had many fun activities:

  • Team B won the Intramural Softball championship
  • 3K & 4K had a picnic and also had their final day of school parties
  • 8th grade boys basketball team played the teachers
  • K5, 1, 3, & 4 had VIP visitors
  • 2nd grade Volunteered and collected trash to help keep the school clean
  • The Sternig & Laufer awards were presented at Mass


Next week we have many more exciting activities:

  • Wednesday we celebrate the 8th grade students with a breakfast, awards, and graduation. Parents of the 8th grade students are invited to the Awards presentations at 10:00. Graduation is at 7:00 pm that evening
  • Thursday the tradition continues - Olympic Day is back and parents are invited to enjoy the day with us
  • Friday we celebrate Mass as a school - K5 will be presenting at Mass. It is still only for students but it will be live streamed for families. School is dismissed at 10:00 and Summer begins!!!!

Bussing for June 4th

Mrs. Rychtik confirmed with Johnson Bus that there will be bussing available for students at 10:00 dismissal on Friday, June 4th.

no Y Care on June 4th

I spoke with the YMCA this week and was informed that Y Care will not be available on the last day of school - June 4th. If you were planning to use the service on that day, please make other arrangements

Michael G Sternig Award Presented

On Thursday, the Michael G. Sternig Award was presented to a 7th grade student that daily lives the quote set by Mr. Sternig, "Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do". This year's winner embodies, and continues to grow, in the values of faith, knowledge, values and respect. Not only is she knowledgeable about her faith, but she practices kindness and respect continuously, serving as a role model for her peers.

Noreen Laufer Award Presented

The Noreen Laufer Award was presented in Mass today. This award is presented to a studet in grades 1-7 who “regularly exhibits a positive attitude and touches the lives of others around them.” This valued, yearly award comes to our students from the Jim Laufer family in memory of their former dedicated wife, mother of five, and treasured second grade teacher here at Holy Angels.


This year’s nominee was nominated by Mrs. Scheit. This student is not the loudest in the room, nor do they draw attention to themselves or try to be the center of focus in a classroom. However, they work hard and always seem to have a positive attitude about them. This student has a gentle, compassionate spirit in and out of the classroom. They notice when someone needs a friend and can always be counted on to help when needed. Their approach toward learning is thoughtful and inquisitive, always thinking and putting forth their best effort. She is a joy to teach because she comes to school eager and interested!

Author Visits 2nd Grade

Curt Casetta, the author of the Bluebell books, came to visit with the 2nd grade students during their library time this week. He talked about being an author, his cat Bluebell, and the students asked him questions. He even autographed some cards for the students. There is a Bluebell book in the library that uses Holy Angels as part of story. Check it out if you get a chance. Thank you Mrs. Jurss for making this happen.

3k & 4K Picnic

8th Grade VB & BB vs Teachers

Last week the 8th grade girls VB team took on the teachers in their annual game. The teachers tried their best but the girls won in dominating fashion.


This week the 8th grade boys BB team played the teachers. The teachers made it close....losing by only 4 points. A big shout out to the boys for their patience and giving the teachers the space and opportunity to shoot baskets. I am sure they would have dominated.

3K & 4K Bridging Party

"v" is for Volunteering

2nd grade students used the letter "V" in the ABC Countdown to focusing on service by Volunteering. Because the weather did not cooperate, they chose to volunteer inside the school and collected trash and recycling from classrooms and my office. Thank you for keeping our school clean.

3K Celebrated Super Hero Day for the letter "S" in the ABC Countdown

We are excited to announce that Holy Angels will host Vacation Bible School on our campus this summer! Our VBS week will be July 6-9. The time frame will be from 8:30-Noon each day.


Our theme is: “Treasured: Discovering You’re Priceless to God” Children going into grades K5-5 from the West Bend/Newburg Catholic parishes as well as kids from other Christian churches in the area are welcome to join us.


Families with children going into grades K5-5 next year received information in their Friday folders a few weeks ago about this, but if you would like to register and pay online, or for more information, please go to www.hawb.org/vbs

Boys & Girls Club Summer Volleyball

The Boys & Girls Club Development Series will focus on basic skills, understanding the game, and teamwork for younger players. Older players will have the opportunity to work on game situations and improving their skills.


Registration Deadline is Wednesday June 30th. Registration forms can be mailed in or dropped off at the West Bend Club (925 N. Silverbrook Dr. West Bend, WI 53090). Check made payable to Boys & Girls Club or Credit Card payment accepted.
