MORNING DEVOTION SCRIPTURES
Mr. Yearwood welcomes students each day by going over a thought and scripture for the day. Last week's scriptures were:
- Isaiah 40: 31
- Matthew 18:3-5
- Luke 6:41
- Matthew 18:12
- Matthew 7:1-2
Highlights from the Week
Math Team
These 7th and 8th grade math students have been working hard over the last several weeks to prepare for tournament season. Congratulations and great job to each of them for their performance at Wednesday's math tournament at Good Hope!
Bullseye!
Our archers are having a great time and doing a fantastic job! Several of them have been hitting bullseye shots at practice. (More pics in the weekly photo folder linked below.)
Class Guitar
We are so thankful for partners like the Jeremy Samplaski from Northbrook's worship team who share their talents with our students. This week guitar students learned more about different chords and techniques from Jeremy.
Outside Again
Students were excited for the warmer weather this week so they could get outside and play. The cold is nice for a while, but we sure do enjoy the sunshine on the playground!
Basketball Math
Mr. Yearwood snuck in a little math lesson with these 3rd graders using some basketballs.
Balloon Fun
PE students enjoyed playing with the leftover homecoming balloons. Pairing balloons with parachutes makes for a great physical activity that also promotes teamwork.
Special Guest
Lower school and upper school students got to hear a special message from Dr. Boyd this week at morning devotion and chapel. We love Dr. Boyd!
Rolling With It
One day this week some of the upper school classes had to do some shifting around to allow for repair work happening in a couple of the classrooms. That didn't slow down this 8th grade math class. Mr. Roy was able to roll a whiteboard into the cafe to keep class moving.
Spring Sport Sign Ups
Upper school students started making decisions about the spring sports that they want to participate in. On the list for this year: Tennis, Track, and Golf. On the wish list to come soon: Baseball, Softball, and Soccer.
Celebrating a Great Win
The 6th grade girls won their last regular season game in overtime with a score of 26-25. Afterwards they went to McDonald's with Coach Stubbs to celebrate.
Basketball Season Ends
This week ended the season for our Varsity and JV basketball teams. All of the teams and cheerleaders did a wonderful job this season! Next year we will be eligible for AHSAA post-season play!
Youth Basketball
Our youth basketball teams have had excellent seasons this year! Next weekend they will be competing in the Cullman County Tournament. Go Lions!
