SEAS Faith Formation
November 4, 2023
A Note from Driskill's Desk
Happy November!
November brings cooler weather and so much to be thankful for during this season.
We, as a faith formation program, are so thankful to you, the families, who continue to bring your children to class and to our Sunday 10am Mass.
Last week we celebrated our Saint Parade and were blessed with over 475 people in attendance. We had so many children dressed up as saints, and after mass they were given little bags and paraded around the building.
Thank you to our ministries who supplied treats for our kids for our “Saint or Treat” family event.
To see some of the pictures, please view our SEAS youth ministry Instagram or the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Facebook page.
For the most up to date information on our programs, please check out the links for our social media at the bottom of the newsletter.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
As I read the newsletter put out by the Good Shepherd Association in October, I was reminded of a question that has been asked several times throughout the years: at what age should my child start Faith Formation? Enjoy as you read the below article about the religious world of the young child.

Elementary Faith Formation
During the month of October, many of our Elementary students learned more about the rosary. We even had a few classes who went to the rosary garden outside the FFYC. Meditating on the mysteries of a rosary is a way to learn more about the life of Jesus. It is like Mary showing us a scrapbook she put together about the life of her son!
The month of November is a great time to learn more about the Communion of Saints. Did you know that each of the Elementary classrooms is named after a saint? If you look at the bulletin board in the hallway, you will find more information on each of our "classroom saints" posted.

Archdiocese Safe Environment Protocols
In the month of November, our Faith Formation programs will be going over some safe environment and boundary topics with our students. Each program coordinator will provide you with more information on specifics.

Safety Procedures
The safety of our students, families, volunteers, and staff is a top priority for our Faith Formation Ministry. It is important to us that parents feel comfortable and confident while their children attend classes at SEAS. We take several steps to ensure we are providing a safe environment for all.
Each of our volunteers and all of the staff are required to take Safe Environment Trainings. Our Good Shepherd and Elementary students must be picked up from their classroom to guarantee that they leave with a trusted adult. You will also notice that we have a police officer on site during each class session.
To help with safety measures, we ask that parents read the below handbook provided by the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
