Willow Parent Bulletin #15
December 9, 2022
Here it comes....winter
The buses will be slower when the weather is poor. It takes longer to get them loaded when you add boots and snow pants. More importantly, the drivers are taking care in safely transporting everyone on roads that may be slick or snow covered. Your patience is appreciated.
Please listen to any robo calls you receive from the District before calling back to say you missed a call.
Please also make sure that your voice mail isn't full so we can leave you a message, if needed. If your phone number, email, or contacts change... let us know so we can update our records.
Unless the "feels like" temp is under 20 degrees, students will be outside in the morning and at recess. Please be sure they are properly dressed.
Your Wildcat should be here by 8AM... 8:05 AM is considered tardy. When late, its starts the whole day off kilter... they have missed important morning information and community building time in class.
Please call the Office by 2 PM with any transportation changes for the day.
If your child cannot participate in any classroom activities, please make sure that your child's teacher is aware so an alternate assignment can be provided.
We cannot allow any outside food to be shared in class due to allergies.
We know this time of year can be pretty hectic; it is for us, too. If we can be of help, let us know. Supporting each other is always a priority for the Willow community.
HF Band is back today!
Below are a few pictures from the last Willow Band day. We were also joined by a couple of the 2nd grade classrooms who made "floats" in honor of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Family Conversations: leadership
Anyone can be a leader. Being a leader means setting a good example, helping others, and doing the right thing. This week, talk about how your child can be a leader. Challenge him/her/them to show you.
Sometimes leaders help people by doing small things that make a big difference. A great example was bringing in food during our food drive. Be sure to compliment your child when he/she/they help others this week.

Parenting as a Team
Kohl's Childens' Museum
This unique presentation was created by our friends at the Dolores Kohl Education Foundation and is making its world debut in Glenview.
Once upon a time when the world began, there was no music, no dancing, no singing. But the animals of Animalandia discovered music and formed an orchestra. Join the Animal Orchestra for a 35-minute performance that introduces young children to the music of the world.
Each ticket welcomes a family of up to 5, and each ticket comes with a free copy of the Animal Orchestra children's book.
KCM members can reserve free tickets (remember, each ticket admits up to 5 guests) with the discount code KCMFAM. Make a day of it with play at the Museum and a trip with the Animal Orchestra!
