Dear Parents and Grandparents,
We are excited to welcome parents and grandparents for our Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday! Parents that RSVP'd will check in at the trail gate (or office if they are needing handicap parking) when they arrive. If you did not RSVP, then we will not have food to serve you. All food was ordered for parents that are on our list of RSVPs. Thank you!
Adult lunches cost $4.50 each. You may use your child's lunch account or pay exact cash at the register. We will not be able to make change so please bring exact cash if that is how you are paying for your lunches. Student lunches are $2.95 each.
Please park at Copper Hills Church or West Wing Park and enter campus at the trail gate unless you need handicap parking. The trail gate will open at 10:55 am and close at 1:05 pm.
Please come at your student's normal lunch time. Parents are not allowed on the playground and must exit campus after their child's lunch time.

Dear West Wing Parents,
Following extensive safety discussions with the City of Peoria Traffic Engineers, we would like to inform you that, beginning November 27, our students will be walking on the opposite side of High Desert Dr. This strategic adjustment is being implemented to enhance the safety of our students and staff during arrival and dismissal, by avoiding the flow of right and left-turning traffic at the intersection of High Desert Dr. and West Wing Pkwy. This plan will also allow for traffic to flow in and out of our Lollipop 1st-8th grade parent pick-up line more smoothly because we will no longer be crossing students at this driveway.
To further ensure the safety of our pedestrians, we have taken several measures.
- Crosswalk markings have been freshly painted on High Desert Drive and 84th Drive to clearly indicate designated pedestrian crosswalk.
- Yellow markings have been installed at all traffic lights at the intersection of High Desert and West Wing Parkway which signals to drivers that it is a school crosswalk.
- SCHOOL pavement markings on West Wing Parkway have been ordered by the City of Peoria and will soon be in place.
Students that walk or ride their bikes will now exit the gates on High Desert Dr. and turn right to cross at the main crosswalk. They will then walk to the intersection at West Wing Parkway and cross on the opposite side. Please see the detailed map below. We will be talking about this with our students this week in order to prepare them for a smooth transition when we return from Thanksgiving break.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to prioritize the safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please review our arrival and dismissal page on our website. Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Shelly Schubert
Principal
Tree of Kindness!
We are so proud of our students that completed a pledge to:
- Be and Upstander and speak up when someone is not demonstrating Kindness
- Use the Stop, Walk, and Talk strategy
- Report to an adult when they see something.
A special thank you to our PTSA or supporting our October Anti-bullying activities! I you visit the cafeteria, please check out our tree with your child and talk about this with them!
We Need More Substitute Teachers
Looking for a flexible job? Becoming a Certified Substitute is the answer! West Wing is in need of additional substitute teachers to fill in when our teachers are out sick or out for professional development. Please consider signing up to help at your child's school. We love having parents as subs and we would love to have you join us this school year! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Shaunna Owsley, our school secretary. She is happy to answer any questions you may have or help you with the process.
We hope you consider this amazing opportunity to impact your child's school! Thank you!
