Lake Orion High School
October 30, 2023

Hello LOHS Families,
Once again, Halloween falls on a school day. As we did last year, we are going to approach this day with an understanding that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 31 is a full day of school with curriculum to cover and exams preparation to complete. Students who choose to wear a costume must continue to follow dress code and all school rules. This includes no face paint or masks. Students must be recognizable. There is to be no non-school items such as costume accessories or props. Absolutely nothing that would resemble or constitute a weapon or be perceived as threatening.
Let’s lean in to a “common sense, keep things simple” state of mind this Halloween. This mindset is rooted in a normal school day and atmosphere. Being the final week of the marking period, we have important work to get done and no time to waste. Thank you for doing your part on making LOHS a great place and Protecting the Thunder!
Go Dragons!

Principal, Lake Orion High School

SCHOOL SERVICES / BENEFITS
Even though all meals are free for the 2023-24 school year, there are other education benefits provided to the district, individual school building, or household that require an individual student benefit (free, reduced, paid) to be determined each year.
We’re asking every family to complete and submit either the School Meal Application or Education Benefits Form (formerly the Household Information Report.) The information collected is used to provide additional services and benefits beyond school meals, like resources for classrooms, teachers, and children, guidance and college counselors, and health and wellness services. Summer EBT benefits are also available for eligible households. Families can apply at lakeorion.familyportal.cloud.
There is more information available about the benefits as well.
