Learn this Summer with DCPS — Elementary Acceleration Program Registration Opens this Week
This summer, DCPS invites all students currently in grades PK4 to 4th to be part of our Elementary Summer Acceleration program. This five-week program will take place on weekdays from July 5 to August 5 and offer a full-day of learning, fun, and friendship. Registration for the program will open on Wednesday, March 9 at 9:00 a.m. Space is limited, and families will be directed to the school in their assigned neighborhood feeder pattern when registering online.
Elementary Summer Acceleration is a unique opportunity for students to engage in fun summer activities — games, crafts, and more — while also participating in hands-on, enriching academic instruction. Students who participated in Summer Acceleration last year formed new friendships, strengthened their literacy and math skills, and had fun learning and growing with their peers
Last Day of School Date Change!
Since DCPS closed schools due to inclement weather for two days earlier this year, the school year has now been extended for students through Monday, June 27. This will ensure DCPS offers 180 instructional days. Teachers and staff will report for Records Day/Professional Development on Tuesday, June 28. Should additional closures become necessary, we will communicate additional calendar updates.
