In addition, we have limited open enrollment for the coming school year. If you know someone who may be interested, more information can be found here.
Bingo Night
Each winter, in partnership with our PTAs, we host a couple bingo nights at Snail Lake. This is an event for an adult or two and their kindergarten student to play a couple rounds of bingo together. Please join us on either Monday, January 29 at 6:00pm or Tuesday, January 30 at 6:00pm. An adult must stay with their child for this event. Please sign up for which night you will be attending and come ready to yell "Bingo." https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090F4CAEAE2AA4F49-47063021-snail#/
Art Display at Churchill Street Restaurant
Students at Snail Lake recently completed a winter tree project in art classes with their specialist teachers. Two pieces from each homeroom class were chosen to be part of a special January display at Churchill Street. Thank you to Churchill St. for this opportunity to highlight some of our great kindergarten artists!
(Families of students whose art was selected were contacted for permission prior to hanging their work.)

Let's Talk About It: Happy New Year
Society often pushes us to make changes every January. People post their New Year’s resolutions on social media, talk about it with family and friends, and promise themselves and others that this will be the year they accomplish their goals. The thing is, resolutions are rarely kept beyond the second Friday of January. Too often, we set goals for ourselves, and when we don’t meet them, we may have feelings of failure that can ultimately take a toll on our self-esteem, which can trigger stress and anxiety and then take a toll on our mental health. Read more about how to cope with this anxiety here.
Library News
It is the middle of the school year, and our kinders have already checked out 7,121 books from our school library. Way to go, Snail Lake readers!

Island Lake International Night
The Island Lake PTA is hosting International Night this year on Thursday, February 8th from 5:30-7:30 at Island Lake Elementary! International Night is an evening of fun for all where we can celebrate the diversity of cultures and nationalities making up the Island Lake Community. It is a wonderful opportunity for our families to share different cultures with the school community in a celebration of internationalism and intercultural awareness. Island Lake families represent a country or nationality with a table or display to highlight the unique aspects of that country or nationality. This may include food, clothing, decorations, items, and games. The event is FREE and open to all family members. We hope to see you there!Contact us
