Mrs. Michels Weekly Updates
Let's make it a great week!
Hello Hamilton Families,
October 16- October 20
Thank you everyone who participated in our Fall Fundraiser. Your contributions allow the PTA to provide many great things here at Hamilton. The Science Alive presentation that students experienced last week was one of the many wonderful things PTA does for our students.
Thank you also for supporting our Popcorn Day. If your child is going to order popcorn on popcorn day, they must have their money in by 9:15. If your child arrives at school after 9:15 on popcorn day they will not be allowed to order. We need to have a cut off time as our volunteers have to be done by 11:15 so we can use the space for lunch. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Good news!!
This week construction on our Y5-1 & 2 -3 playgrounds will start. It will take about a month to complete. With the construction we will have to adjust where the students go for recess as well as morning line up. The fence will go up on Wednesday and once that is up I can will update families on our arrival and dismissal procedure. This short term inconvenience will bring long term enjoyment! I am very excited for our playground face lift! Stay tuned for updates!

Friendly Reminders
Please remember that if your child vomits or has a fever they cannot return to school until they are 24 hours fever/vomit free. This means if they are sent home from school they can't return the very next day as that will not be 24 hours. If your child is out sick you must call to excuse their absence within 24 hours as well.
Please remember that school starts at 8:30. This means your child needs to be in class by 8:30. Being tardy interferes with your child's morning routine and foundation for a good day at school. It also disrupts other students who arrived on time.
Please do not park in the bus lane or in the parking lot where the yellow stripes are. The yellow striped area of the parking lot is for parents who are staying IN the car and just dropping off or picking up at the end of the day. If you are getting out of your car for ANY reason at ANY time you must be parked in a parking spot.
On Halloween we will again have our annual Halloween parade. Students are welcome to dress up in school appropriate-weapon free costumes. Students will parade outside, weather and playground construction permitting and if that is not an option we have an alternate inside route. Student will stop and collect candy at candy stations along the parade route. We are gladly taking donations of candy if you would like to donate a bag or two we would really appreciate it. If you are able to donate candy please have it turned in by 10/30.

Please contact our Family Resource Center at: 734-419-2709 or FRC@wwcsd.net. Our FRC also has a Digital Request for Services Form, which can be used to request assistance by filling out a simple form. Attendance
Regular attendance is crucial for your child's academic success. Please make every effort to ensure your child attends school on time every day and stays throughout the whole day. Consistent attendance throughout the school day allows your child to engage in learning and maximize their educational opportunities fully.
Illness: If your child is not feeling well and cannot attend school, please notify us immediately. Students who are ill should not attend school to prevent the spread of illness to others.
Excused Absences: We understand that there may be instances when your child needs to be absent due to illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, or other legitimate reasons. Please notify the school in advance whenever possible to classify the absence as excused.
Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences negatively impact your child's education. Absences without valid reasons will be considered unexcused, and appropriate actions may be taken per district policy.
Timely reporting of absences helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensures that your child's absence is properly documented. Absences must be reported within 24 hours.
There are two convenient methods for reporting your child's absence to facilitate efficient communication and accurate attendance records.
You can notify your child's school through the dedicated attendance line. Please leave a detailed message stating your child's name, grade, and reason for absence.
You can report absences directly through MiStar, our secure online portal for student information. MiStar provides a user-friendly interface that allows you to submit absences.
Thank you for your ongoing support in creating a positive and productive learning environment for all our students.
