Welcome to Week 11!
Greetings Clinton Valley Families!
Last week was a wonderful week at Clinton Valley! We are really cruising in the classroom. Our instruction is sound, and our intervention groups are up and running. Teachers are really targeting your child's needs and working to address them, systematically. Routines and procedures are in place, and we are doing our very best to maintain structure and hold students accountable for their choices. We are in the longest stretch of the year without a break and fatigue may be a factor in the coming weeks. Make sure your child is as rested as possible so we can maximize our time with them. This part of the year is so important, as research shows that the first trimester is the most impactful.
There are many things that you can do at home to support your child's progress. First, ensure that they are reading 20 minutes per day. They can read independently if capable, out loud to you, or be read to. All of it helps! Also, they do have access to Lexia and Dreambox at home. All they need to do is login to Classlink and they can access either program from there. If you are unsure how to login, please ask your child's teacher. They will get you their Classlink information.
Have a wonderful week!

Lunch Procedures
We do have specific procedures that we are still working on implementing. Students must stay in their seats at all times and be at a voice level 2 or lower. This means that any form of yelling or screaming is not permitted. It can get very loud in the cafeteria, so we will continue to remind them to keep the noise levels down. There have been instances where we had to implement a level 0 (no talking) and a level 1(whispering) so that they understand the difference.
Additionally, we are working on making sure that those who go through the lunch line, get everything that they need in order to avoid going back. For safety purposes, we do not want them traveling back and forth from their seats. Therefore, soon, we will not permit it. Instead, we will have a traveling basket for those who need additional items. We have been working on this for an entire month. We also understand that the littler ones may need more practice with this, but ultimately, we would like everyone to stay seated for the entire 30 minutes.
