Hometown Families:
We hope everyone had a restful four day weekend. We look forward to finishing the year strong. It is hard to believe there are only 32 days left of school. Please remember there is no parking in the back lot for drop off or pick up. Also, the driveway has cars that can drive in to the back lot for staff parking. Please be cautious as students are walking to and from school. We want all of our families safe.

Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Karyn Kicho
How long and what grades have you taught?
I have taught for 22 years. During that time I have had the opportunity to work with all grade levels K-12th. I have been a PE teacher, a Health teacher and a swimming instructor for schools in both Indiana and Illinois during my career.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere, I would choose to go back to the Greek islands. It was a place so picturesque, crystal clear water, houses built on cliffs, stunning sunsets, dramatic views and the best fresh seafood you could imagine.
What is the best thing about working at Hometown?
The best thing about working at Hometown are the students and staff. I love seeing the students' faces light up when they get to come to PE class. Hometown students and staff truly care about others and because of that it is a school like no other!
The best thing about working at Hometown is that I get to sing and make music with children every day! I love them so much!
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is sushi and any type of fresh seafood whether it's raw or cooked.
Who is someone you admire and why?
The person I admire the most is my dad. My dad is a strong but at the same time soft spoken person. He never complains about anything and puts others first. My dad was an educator/ principal and has taught me how to be successful and work hard at my job. My dad has supported me with everything I have done in my life. Most importantly my dad has taught me the meaning of family and has shown me how important it is to appreciate what you are given in life.
If you see Mrs. Kicho around the school make sure you say hello!!
What a beautiful family!
SNOW much fun
