2022 MCC Annual Report

A letter from our Board President Melanie Blunt
Dear Friends,
The weather in Virginia has been mild this June, and I am enjoying a wonderful evening at our Summer Pool Party and Veteran's Bbq at the Middleburg Community Center. Children are splashing and playing on the ball field at a water slide and bounce house manned by Banneker Elementary Principal Robert Carter. Sue Foote is helping families make tie dye t-shirts. Fellow board member Joe Litterio is serving up hot dogs and hamburgers to our local veterans, and volunteers like Laura Gaiser Wright, are checking in guests. The center is brimming with activity, and that is exactly how we like it! So many of my childhood activities took place at the Middleburg Community Center, and we want your family to make special memories here, too.
This year, with your help, we have made many improvements to our grounds-a new fence for our pool; a new toddler playground; and a beautiful garden designed by Bridget Wilson in our amphitheater will be installed this Fall.
MCC highlights of 2022 include the following:
- Launched the brand new MCC general and events website.
- Welcomed over 80+ local nonprofits and businesses through facility use and partnership.
- Opened our doors to 165+ events and programs.
- Hosted 20 MCC sponsored events free to our community.
- Served over 30,000 patrons of Loudoun & Fauquier Counties through use of our facilities, pool and the 5+ acres of grounds containing gardens, playgrounds & picnic grounds.
- Donated back $20,000+ to local nonprofits through facility use.
I am so grateful to our team here at the Center led by Executive Director Olivia Rogers. She has masterfully assembled an annual report that is as informative as it is eye catching. Thank you for
supporting the Middleburg Community Center. We hope to see you here soon.
With Sincere Appreciation,
Mrs. Melanie Blunt, President
About the Middleburg Community Center
In the mid-1940's, a group of civic minded citizens came together to make Mrs. Howell E. Jackson’s dream come to fruition: to make Middleburg the social hub of Loudoun and Fauquier County. To this day, Middleburg Community center's mission has been to offer a gathering place for cultural, educational, and social activities to enrich the lives within our community.
As one of Loudoun County’s oldest non-profits, we rely 100% on private donations to keep our doors open. We work with over 80 local nonprofits and businesses to make all of our community events and programs possible. 40% of the budget is raised through annual giving. The Community Center simply would not be possible without the generosity of the community it serves.
