Welcome to Cedar Park Parent Teacher Club (PTC)
Welcome to our new Rachel Carson students and families! All current parents and guardians of CPMS students are automatically members of the PTC.
Our events, programs, school support, and enthusiasm make up this vibrant volunteer community and are indeed, POWERED BY YOU.

1. Parent Volunteers are Allowed on Campus! - Read on to learn how you can help with the first student party of the year on April 13th and for planning for the 8th grade send off or just email Holli Shenfield, Volunteer Coordinator, to learn more.
2. Lots of things are going on in April - Read on to find out more about when the two non-student days are, all school celebration, band concert, book fair, and Family Night are!
Let's Finish Strong for the Kids!
- Our long-awaited school-wide party is scheduled for April 13th! We have 3 staff members ready to help plan. We just need a couple of parent volunteers to help make this happen!
- Before we know it, the 8th graders will be promoted and will move on to high school! We invite you to volunteer to help the 8th graders to have a wonderful send off!
- We still have some slots available for art literacy volunteers. You don't need to be an artist and the lessons are pre-made! All we need is you!

Missed our recent Community PTC Meeting?
No worries! Click here to read the meeting minutes from Tuesday, March 15th.
Our next meeting will be in person at Cedar Park in the library! We will be discussion the budget for the 22-23 school year and would appreciate your input.
The topic for our May 17th, meeting will be elections for open board positions, which includes President, Vice-President, and Co-Director of Volunteers for Rachel Carson (alongside Sue Herson). Please consider being a part of our Board. It is a great way to support your child's school and stay connected to what is going on.
Our final meeting of the year on June 7th, will focus on welcoming the new board and 5K planning items to cover over the summer.

- April 5th - Family Night/Book Fair in Library from 5:30-7:30pm AND Band Concert (all grade levels) at 6:30pm
- Wednesday, April 13th - School-wide Party
- Thursday & Friday, April 14th & 15th - Non-Student Days - Teacher Professional Development and Grading Days
- Tuesday, April 19th - Our first in-person PTC Meeting of the year AND Early Release at 2pm

- Seismic upgrades
- Continuation of 1:1 Chromebooks for students
- Network upgrades
- Roof replacement
- Additional security cameras
- Water bottle fillers
- Replacement school busses

Board Positions Opening Up for 22-23! - We Need YOU!
From a first-timer as a PTC Board member, I can tell you it is a great and rewarding way to stay connected to the school, contribute to supporting the students and teachers, and not embarrass your kid too much in the process!
We are looking for wonderful people, like you, to consider joining the PTC board for 22-23 in the following positions:
- President
- Vice President
- Co-Volunteer Coordinator of Rachel Carson (alongside Sue Herson)
