PUSD COVID Update
February 16, 2022
Dear PUSD Community,
Good morning! With a significant decline in COVID rates, the LA County Department of Public Health has updated the Health Officer Order that lifts the outdoor mask mandate while at TK-12 schools. This Order no longer requires masking while outdoors at K-12 Schools, youth sports, or childcare settings. Masking is still recommended at crowded outdoor events.
PUSD schools and early childhood education settings will align with the LA County Public Health Order. Effective immediately, wearing masks outdoors is now optional, although it is still recommended. Students will still be required to wear a mask upon entering buildings and while in classrooms and other indoor spaces.
Type of masks required indoors at PUSD:
Employees must wear surgical-grade masks
Students are required to wear a surgical mask in addition to or in place of a cloth mask
We will continue to work closely with the Pasadena Public Health Department to align our protocols with updated local health orders.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Brian McDonald, Ed.D.
