Principal Message
Dear Families,
It's that time of year again, the 5 Essentials Parent Survey is now open! In order to receive information, we need at least 20 percent of our parent community to complete the survey. You might be wondering, do Erin and Julia even look at the report? Yes we do! We can even track our results back to 2020 to see what we have been able to improve upon and what we may still need to work on. A few of the measures we look at are parent connectedness, parent satisfaction, and parent/teacher interactions. We hope you will take a few minutes to complete the 2024 survey for us! Please look for the link and more information in the next section!
Wednesday got away from us and I didn't get to send out our Where did it go Wednesday email.
Check out our Lost and Found slides at "Where did it go Wednesday!" Some students may have already picked up items that aren't crossed out yet.

5 Essentials Survey - We want your feedback!
5Essentials Survey | Click here to take it
If you have not already, please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement. A report will be generated only if we have 20 percent parent participation.
**It only takes about 15 minutes to complete.**

*Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.*
Student Survey (Grades 4-8 ONLY)
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered at OMS in the near future. For a copy of the questions, click here. Our 4th and 5th grade teachers will share the date they plan to administer the survey in their weekly newsletters.
If you do not want your child to participate, fill out the information at the bottom of this form (linked here) and ask your child to return this sheet to their teacher.
Digital Citizenship Week
The week of February 5th, District 25 will be recognizing the importance of Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety by having a Digital Citizenship spirit week! Digital Citizenship week will focus on the importance of being safe, responsible, and respectful online. If you have any questions please reach out to our OMS Tech Facilitator Ms. Grippo at tgrippo@sd25.org.

American Heart Association Fundraiser
We kicked off our fundraiser today with an assembly. Click HERE to get started! Our fundraiser begins today 2.2.24 and runs through 2.23.24.
Valentine's Day
February 14th is just around the corner. On Wednesday, February 14th, our students will celebrate Valentines Day with a classroom party. PTA Room Reps are already planning this special event with classroom teachers. While all parties will be in the afternoon, each grade level will begin at a different time. Please look for specific party information from your child's teacher.
If your child will be passing out Valentine's Day cards to other students, the cards cannot have any candy or food attached to them per the district's wellness policy. Items such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. are great alternatives as long as they are not edible. Goodie bags filled with treats or candy are also not permitted. PTA room reps. and classroom teachers will be sending out additional information about the parties soon. We greatly appreciate our room reps. and all of our volunteers who organize and provide fun Valentine's Day experiences for our students.
