January Update

Supt. Stec sent out a communication to all D44 families about the January 25th transition. Please click on this communication for more specific information.

All students must complete the self certification form located in Skyward Family Access prior to arriving on January 25, 2021. We are requiring this of ALL FAMILIES, even those who may have previously completed the form. Instructions on how to do so can be found here. This will be available to complete starting Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

All students who complete the self certification will be provided a District 44 backpack tag, which signifies to us that our families continue to honor our requirement that only children who are symptom-free are on campus. Students will be provided this backpack tag on their first day back on campus but only after we have checked that their self certification was completed. Any family who has not completed this will be immediately contacted by the child’s school and not be allowed to return until complete.

The DCM is now offering exciting, virtual, hands-on, STEM labs as well as Arts and Maker programs. Click on either of the links for more information, or view a video at this link.

We have had some inquiries about students passing out classroom Valentine's this year. Due to COVID and not all of our students are in person on the same days, we are asking parents to not purchase individual valentine's this year. The BF staff is working on an alternate celebration that would be a safer option and include all students. Please look for communication about this in the next couple of weeks.

Join us on January 27th, from 9am-10pm for a BF PTA Fundraiser at Oberweis, Woodgrain Pizza and That Burger Joint. Details for this event are outlined on the PTA Dine-Out Flyer

Just a friendly reminder that all Library Books are due back to BF school the week of Feb. 1. If you are in person you can bring the book with you to school during this week. For all of our remote learners, there will be a drop box placed outside of Door 13, so you can drop off the books anytime that week.

As we begin the second half of the school year, please review the etiquette of remote learning with your children as we want to continue our success in keeping our students safe and our home life private. The private and safety letter is just a reminder to review this with your children.
