From the principal's office...

Thanks for a good first week! We really appreciate your patience as we are getting our car rider line to finish more quickly each day. We were done by 3:25 Friday, so hopefully it will continue to get even faster!


As a reminder, students should either be walkers (staff will walk them to McRay) or car riders. We don't dismiss students to parents on the front porch due to safety issues.

Westwood Shirts

Show your Westwood love by wearing this year’s school shirt!

Shirts are $10 each ($11 for XXL, $12 for XXXL); please make checks payable to Westwood Elementary. All orders and payment due by Sept. 2nd. We gave out order forms at open house, but if you need one, just come by the office.

Masks

Thanks for helping your child remember to have a mask every day. We are limited in our supply of extras right now, so we appreciate your help.

Speaking of car line...update on morning arrival

We will again be using both the side and front entrances. 3rd-5th graders can be dropped off on the side, and they will go sit outside their classroom doors in the hall until 7:45. This is a great time to get some reading in! K-2nd graders can be dropped off in the front, and they will go to the cafeteria then go to class at 7:45.


Guess what? We are going to start opening the doors at 7:20 this year! This means no students should be on the front porch before 7:20. There is no adult supervision before 7:20.

Water bottles

Water bottles arrived late Wednesday, so all students have a Westwood water bottle. Our cafeteria staff washes them at school. Thanks to our cafeteria!

Registration Update

Just like last year, you need to update registration on-line. You should have received a letter this summer if your student was enrolled in Springdale schools last year with the log in and password. Part of this process is signing the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) that allows your student to use a device at school or take one home if needed. Visit https://rgupdate.sdale.org/login to update your child's information and digitally sign the AUA.
