Sault Health Adolescent Care Center (SHACC) Information
The Sault Health Adolescent Care Center is open during the summer providing general medical and mental health services to students of Sault Area High School and Career Center, Sault Area Middle School, and Malcolm High School! Students entering Sault Area Middle School 5th grade are also eligible for summer services. Insurance including Medicaid is accepted and no student is denied service based on inability to pay.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm with the nurse practitioner not available Monday and Thursday after 10 a.m. and Friday after 9 a.m.
The summer is a great time for students to get ready for the next school year with a physical examination and immunization update. Cara Haapapuro, MSN, FNP-BC provides comprehensive and sport card physicals as well as general medical services such as minor illness and injury, chronic illness, concussion assessment/management, health education and wellness promotion, and some laboratory services. If your student is entering the 7th grade, immunizations are due. We can check immunization records.
Counseling is provided by Weber and Devers Psychological services.
Call the SHACC 906 632 5690 to schedule an appointment or to check your student’s immunization record.
