February 3rd, 2023
Windsor Families,
Happy February!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Science and Engineering Fair and to all who came to the book fair Thursday evening! Also, a big thank you to all of the volunteers who made it happen!
Congrats to the 5th-grade band members who put on a wonderful concert this week as well!
Please see the information below regarding the 5Essentials Parent Survey, we need 20% parent participation and Windsor is currently at 3% participation.
To meet the ABC25 membership goal, Windsor still needs several more families to join. If you are able to, please click this link to join: abc25.org/donate.
Have a wonderful weekend!

5 Essentials
Go to: https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/login/ to take the survey.
You may enter your email address if you would like to receive confirmation of your submission, but it is not required.
Then enter “Cook” into the county field and “Windsor” to find our school.
Enter how many children you have at this school.
You will then be asked a series of questions to provide input regarding your family’s experience here at Windsor. Please remember to click “submit” once you are done so your responses can be counted.
Please know that your identity and responses will be kept confidential and will not be connected with your child. If you have multiple children who attend Windsor, you may complete one survey for each child. However, only one parent per household may submit a survey for a given child. The survey closes on March 31, so please submit your responses soon!
Thank you in advance for your time and input. We appreciate you!

Stella's Station
Beginning today, Windsor students can participate in the Greg Tang Valentine’s Day Challenge. If you visit https://bit.ly/WVDC23 you can find the challenge for every grade level. Clicking on your child’s grade level will bring you to the challenge information. This year, the challenge needs to be completed and turned in by Wednesday, February 15. Students that complete the challenge will be entered in a drawing on the tangmath.com website, and also in a drawing at Windsor. I look forward to many of our Wildcats participating! ~Mrs. Stella
Staff Spotlight:
Karen Galazka
Hi! My name is Karen Galazka and this is my 22nd year teaching. I have taught 1st through 5th grades. While I have loved all of the grade levels, primary is definitely where my heart is. I graduated from Illinois State and received my masters degree in Literacy and Language from Roosevelt University.
I live in Arlington Heights with my husband, our daughter, Katelyn, (who is currently in 5th grade), and our dog, Chewie (Chewbacca). Outside of school, I enjoy working out, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I love coffee, music, and anything that has to do with being outside in the sun (summer is my favorite season).
We love seeing new friends out and about, so if you happen to run into us on the weekends, please be sure to say “hi”.

Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family (especially my niece Elliott and my nephew Noah) and friends. I have 2 dogs, Lady and Champ. I love movies, music and traveling to new places to learn about new cultures and places.
