Dear River Mill Families,

This past week we had the wonderful opportunity to go watch Estacada High School's performance of Mary Poppins. If you would like to be able to attend the show, visit this site to pre-purchase your tickets. Our community has so many talented students, and this is an opportunity to really showcase some of our high schoolers. Community and school events are important to us as a piece of establishing family engagement within the school setting.

We want to thank our Kindergarten and 5th Grade families who attended our Family Breakfast. Thank you for being patient with our lines and for joining us. Our Nutrition team (plus some additional helping hands) was working as efficiently as possible to provide you with a tasty product and positive experience. I know we had a great time, and we hope you did, too.

There is no school on Friday, February 3rd so teachers have the opportunity to finalize grades that will reflect how your child is doing at the halfway mark of the school year. Please know that there is still half of the school year left and students may still be progressing on some of their Essential Learning Standards, and that is expected. If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.

This Week's Schedule

In order to help you all know what the week looks like, we will list it out clearly for you each week. REID days for are invited students and will change each week. Students are invited to REID days for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's to extend or challenge a student, and other times it might be to provide extra help on a particular skill. On those days, our doors open at 7:50 and dismissal is at 10:00am. If you have questions about this week's schedule, please let. us know!

Timber Prize Day in the Cafeteria

On Tuesdays students who have hot lunch have an opportunity to win a prize. If they go through the line and end up with the coveted green tray, they win! After eating, they will check in with our chefs, Cheri and Susan to collect their prize.

Why Attendance Matters

We have a number of students who are arriving at school late each day. We really emphasize the importance of coming to school each day and on time to establish routine, consistency, and we don't want your child to miss important social and academic items that are so valuable to their school success. If there is a specific circumstance causing this for your family, please let us know so we can support you. Thank you.

Please remember a coat for your child at school!

This Month's Standard of Excellence

Each month we choose to focus on one of our Standards of Excellence. Through this, we teach our students what it means to display these characteristics. Then we recognize members of our school community for exemplifying the trait. All of these help us to reach our school district's long term mission of equipping our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to be resourceful and successful.

My School Bucks is an online payment service that provides parents the ability to securely pay for meals, monitor student cafeteria purchases, and receive email notifications for low account balances.

Please note: currently, a convenience fee of $2.75 will be applied for each transaction.

All transactions are processed and applied to students' accounts nightly.
