HSSD Construction Update

This publication showcases construction progress made across the district. The projects listed are the result of the successful April 2021 referendum, in which residents voted to approve $98 million in facilities updates at all eight HSSD schools. New Gym
Air barrier being applied to the exterior masonry walls of the new gym.
Floor
The floor in the new gym has been poured.
Masonry
Masonry veneer starting on the outside of the new gym
Roof
New metal roof installation on Area B.
What's Next
- Masonry on the outside of the gym will continue to follow the install of the air barrier.
- Drywall is progressing well in Area B and finishes continue moving forward.
- MEP testing - the insulators are close behind getting everything complete to make way for paint and ceilings.
- Installing the storefront doors.
- Paint will continue on the inside as the drywall areas finish up.
Flooring
The slab on metal deck concrete has been poured creating the new second floor collaboration space.
Flooring
The precast plank has been grouted on the second floor new multi-purpose fitness (wrestling) room.
New Gym
Overall progress of the new gym. The masons continue to make progress on walls and the screen wall framing steel has been installed over the west entrance.
Lights
Light fixtures, electrical finishes, and ceiling tile borders are being installed in the new Print Center.
Drywall
Drywall taping and finishing of walls and soffits in Area C in the second floor classrooms.
What's Next
- Electrical and mechanical finish work will continue in the ceiling grid.
- The polished concrete contractor will begin prep work for some of the rooms.
- With the floor infills now complete, the masons will continue to construct interior CMU walls for Phase 2B.
Area G
- Concrete masonry units (CMU) wall work will continue.
- Construction of bearing walls on the second floor prior to installation of joist and deck in the mechanical and fitness areas.
Area C
- The second floor classroom drywall and remaining ceiling fire protection rough-ins will finish.
- Hanging of drywall will continue in the second floor classrooms.
- Interior CMU walls will be built in the kitchen/servery area on first floor.
- MEP contractors will continue rough-ins both in-wall and above ceiling throughout Area C.
- Beginning rough-in work in the ceiling of the old gym/new cafeteria space.
